Foreigners don't know the features that are considered nice for an asian face. Look at 0:54, his eyes and face shape are both considered big and small face. He has a good nose bridge too. He has the ideal beauty standards for girls pretty much down, if he had the same features but on a girl instead. Those standards isn't unattainable, like i said, most people in Korea will have one or two ideal features with some okay features.

You pointed out literally the only guy who didn't have those features in this vid. Look at the 90% of the men in this vid and you will get an idea of the features I'm describing. Sadly the likelihood of the guy you mentioned having had surgery are also very high. At the end of the day when you visit Korea most people look VERY different from this 'ideal' of beauty. People on the street ( without surgery) and people on TV, look like two different ethnicities honestly.

Just like any country 1-2/10 people are above average looking and 1-2/10 are below avg looking. It's like saying Chris Hensworth is the avg white male on the street if we're comparing people on TV and people on the streets. When i lost 10kg, my relatives thought i went for chin fillers and nose jobs, asian face just looks better if they are really slim. Like the guy at 0:54 he's def skinny and really skinny by western standards because we hold a lot of fats on our face, i bet you if he gained another 6-8kg, he won't be considered above avg looking anymore.

To be honest, from what I've personally seen, it seems like people in Korean can be, dare I say... more strict or judgemental when it comes to beauty? I don't mean to offend Koreans because I am very well aware that not EVERYONE is like this. I'm referring mostly to the media. If you don't look a certain way or are a certain weight you're not beautiful and I think they express that a lot. I feel like people are more determined about their "ideal" person over there where as here (in the U.S.) people tend to not have ONE specific type. Most people are more open and when I've asked my male friends what they like they all say different things and also they tend to like more than one type of girl. Koreans seem to only lean on that one type they're attracted to. Before getting more into Kpop and Korean culture in general I didn't really hear the words "ideal type" that much because it's so hard for people to have a type here. I've realized it's a more common subject over there. Again, this is only from what I'VE seen through the media. By no means am I trying to offend anyone either. I love Korean culture and I think they're beautiful. I'm actually extremely jealous of all the beautiful women and I've always been attracted to Koreans and Asian in general. But I doubt they will ever like a Hispanic like me and I doubt I would ever fit their standards. When I see them talking about foreigners and they're "ideal" foreigner image they usually describe someone with blonde hair and blue eyes and I don't have either of those lol.

I lived in Korea as a Latina and was always complimented on my looks by both men and women. I wouldn't be discouraged, I am sure if you were to go you would easily be surprised as Korea does not know too much or anything about the Latin American world, additionally we all look vastly different as we are not one set race but a blend of many. I encourage you to go and see for yourself how lovely people can be and are in Korea.

I think the question was a little bit weird... in my opinion, it should’ve been like ”What do Korean men think the ideal Korean woman looks like?” Beauty shouldn’t be desired to please the opposite sex, but rather yourself. SillyScyllia you separate the two by thinking whether you want to improve your looks to please other people or to please yourself. An example of that is that someone doesn’t dye their hair green even if they would want to, because people around his/her tell that they wouldn’t like that hair color. A person who wants to look better for her/himself would go ahead and do it, because he/she likes that color and feels like it suits them. I think in general, Koreans( East Asians) do not prefer natural beauty features . They prefer the image they imagine in their minds. PS:I do not mean to criticize this value. I can accept it, understand it, and appreciate it. But I think that's a huge difference between east and west. The first man said something like features that make them Asian and that are exotic for foreigners, but then went on saying big eyes and sharp nose, which are not that common (without surgery) in Korea. I am a bt tired of the focus on how women look. Isn't anyone interested in women's wits, intelligence, humour, etc.?
