These videos are great, They are helping me understand some issues we have, where a process pauses and when it starts again and the output is far too high. I now think the Integral is causing the issue, I'm looking forward to the next video. Thanks

I've been doing PLC since 2/30s in the mid 80s :) I've always been able to avoid PID, or just buy standalone heating controllers for an extruder. Just started a new job, and I've gotta learn PIDE as they are currently using them. And these videos are helping. You have a great ability to teach. Thank you.

You inspired me to write a PIDE simulator. Then I could watch the interaction of the P and I Gains. I don't have access to an actual device to monitor so I wrote some logic to do it in emulator, while I wait for a project.

You rock Tim. You make the hard Math simple. In the last vid of the series can you do cascading or a 3 element control? I really just want to see how you can simplify that math. IE water level control resetting a fill control and adding a usage or drain rate to anticipate a level drop. Challenge make that simple. Love your vids. Keep it up

I think it is a great lesson Tim. I think it might be important to include whether you are using Independent vs Dependent model and the difference between those two models.

This is a great demonstration video. Thank you!! But I still miss the positional form, rather than the velocity form. In engineering school, they taught me 3 ways to calculate the best PID parameters, with the positional PID controller.

Use it only if you don't have a noisy measurement signal AND you need a quick bump to the final control element.
