Thank you for this seriously helped me feel better about taking the test

One thing, though- in my math class, there are problems like the “backwards” example on every test, and there have been since I was in sixth grade. Because of that, this backwards” stuff isn’t a foreign concept to me or the kids from my school, and it’s actually relatively straightforward once you visualize it. The answer is C, by the way, because 18 represents the y intercept of a graph of this line. (AKA 18 represents the number you sell per week before any time has passed).

Another tip, for math, just memorize key base formulas, like the slope formula, circle formulas, graphs, and etc. I took the SAT back in December and I’m still in algebra 2, but got a 710 on the Math section. Just translate the problems into simple English and you’ll be fine

I'm homeschooled so colleges dont really look at my work or "grades" as my classes arent accredited. Since the SAT/ACT is the only real way for colleges to evaluate me, I think im going to lower my work in areas that arent on the SAT (like science and history) and use that extra time to prioritize SAT subjects.

I’ve taken the ACT twice and got an 18 both times 😩 I’ve been out of high school for 8 years and I didn’t pay attention much, but now I’m a full time college student and I do really good. I don’t have much time to study cause I’m in college and I have so much homework. I’ve looked into taking the SAT because I heard it was easier . What should I do ?!?

that is it? in my country you have to take 3 final exams when you graduate and for each you have close to 100 pages to memorize if you want to get into top universities with very high scores, depends if you also take maths which involves in junior and senior year very intense training and most people take tutoring classes but from actual teachers, not students, just to be able to understand and do everything. i can't believe how easy y'all have it.

HOW DO YOU IMPROVE READINGGGGG??? Although I'm in 8th grade, I want to challenge myself. I got 750 on math and a 640 on English. I got 3 wrong in writing and got 10 wrong in reading..... HOWWWWW
@michelleschultze46415 жыл бұрын
You should be really proud of yourself for getting such a high score in eighth grade! A 1390 is nothing to scoff at. Especially a 750 in math, that's insane! Most people don't get even close to that high, even as adults. Your skills will naturally improve as you progress through high school, but of course there are some things you can do to boost yourself sooner. It's a cliché, but if you want to improve your reading skills over the next few years, make sure to read higher level literature. You need to build your efficiency and increase the amount of connections you make within and outside of the work (big picture view). If you really want to challenge yourself, start writing more (essays or creative), because that will not only help you to streamline your process of digesting text but it will also help you to understand word choice, style, other small-scale writing devices like that. It's also, of course, a skill you'll need in life. Once you get closer to taking the SAT again, take official practice tests. Khan Academy can help, but the passages are written differently than the ones that appear in the actual test. You can find official tests online or in official College Board books. There's a limited number (about 8, last time i checked) so strategize according to when and how many times you plan to take the SAT. You have an excellent start so far. You're miles ahead of most of the other kids your age. But remember, it's really cool that you've done this well already, but you shouldn't overwhelm yourself right now. Burnout is really dangerous and you should remember to enjoy yourself rather than throwing yourself exclusively into academics. For right now, you're doing fantastically. I wish you loads of luck on your SAT, whenever you take it next.

Thats crazy. How did you even prep for this in general. My reading is pretty high. I would recommend learning some vocabulary and understanding history. Usually in reading there are some history and having background knowledge does help. Just do practice sat's, then whatever you get wrong write it down and explain why you got it wrong. The sat has a pattern, you'll get an idea of why you are getting it wrong and you brain itself with fix it's mistakes.
@ut1l6325 жыл бұрын

@Chigozirim ᴖᴥᴖ That is understandable, but right now you are in 8th grade. If you spend the next 4 and a half years only thinking about the future, then you will likely regret it. I would recommend worrying more about scholarships and such when you reach your junior year, but not now.
@kaydenarias17055 жыл бұрын
Chigozirim ᴖᴥᴖ you shouldnt be starting in 8th grade and im in tenth right now. There’s a lot of stuff that’s in the SAT that you don’t know. I would start around the end of ninth or in the middle of tenth. You have other stuff to worry about in 8th. And i was always like you in my life. I got really high grades and i wasnt a nerd, i never studied for anything and my teachers find that amazing. I would worry about getting good grades to get into a good highschool like me. to sum up dont start in 8th.

Depends on the college you are applying to. Most schools that cater to learners above 25 have alternative ways you can qualify for admissions or may accept transfers from community college.
