Look at performance on the 124gr Gold Dots, every reviewer I have seen that compares the +P and the non +P all say the performance of the +P is not much better than the non +P if at all, however they have noticeably more recoil. in my personal testing I have found the same. While extremely rare, I think about things like the Aurora movie theater shooting and the recent movie theater stabbing that happened. My EDC gun is a G45 and it’s my do-everything pistol (EDC, nightstand, SHTF). As such, having a light on it is just convenient. With a properly-sized light (e.g., TLR-7A), the light doesn’t make the gun any more uncomfortable when carrying concealed. Basically, I can’t think of a single downside of carrying a WML while EDCing.

Despite being a Sig P320 fan-old-man. My first recommendation to anyone new to shooting is a stock Glock. Unless they already know they want an SAO like a 1911 or a DA/SA like a Sig P220, I tell them to start with a stock Glock. If they are going to start shooting with a striker fired gun then they should start with a Glock. Once they learn it, then move on. If they already have an idea that they want to start with an SAO or DA/SA, then I tell them to stay away from Glocks or any other striker fire gun and learn, train, and practice on the platform you believe you want to use. I am a really big believer in becoming an expert in one platform and then go on to be an okay shooter in other platforms. That is simply my opinion, be kind. Before I go any further, let me put something out there. I was in law enforcement for over 45 years, but my first personal semi-auto pistol was a G26 that I bought in 2009 after three teenage druggies broke into our house. Despite my LEO background, I am pretty sure that each of you have done more shooting in the last six months than I have done in my entire life, and I am 70. Now, with all that said, let’s move on. The No. 1 piece of advice that most Glock users give is to change the stock Glock sights as soon as you can, which I have done. My G19 has Trijicon Suppressor Height Sights and my G26 is running Truglo TFX Pros. Both are great sights. I am a huge red dot sight (RDS) fan. Out of all my semi-auto handguns only three are not running RDS and that is simply because the guns predate RDS. Despite being a huge RDS fan, there is no way on this planet I am running any RDS gun without also running irons. Batteries will fail. The omiter can be obscured by really bad rain, dirt, etc. Not only do I run irons, I routinely practice with irons. I am a big fan of redundancy whenever I can get it. Let’s talk about Issac’s use of a Timney trigger in his carry gun. I have the same trigger in my G26. I have tested it several times and over five (5) pulls it consistently breaks at 2 lbs, 11.4 ozs. The Timney trigger is a competition trigger. I have been severely chastised more than once for putting a competition trigger in a possible carry gun. What are people saying about Issac using a competition trigger in a carry gun or hasn’t anyone noticed? Gentlemen, it was an interesting video, but I was surprised by Will not fixing his iron sights and by Issac running a competition trigger in a carry gun. Will did not escape someone commenting on his lack of a front sight.

There is a difference between a full-blown fighting pistol and a concealed carry pistol, and we seem to have forgotten that. You’re not getting ready to jump into Falluja. You are looking to defend yourself most likely against someone with nobody armor no skills and no idea you’re caring unless you’re wearing your tactical Tommy clothing, giving away your biggest advantage and that is surprise.

The gun is just a tool, but why not have the most capable tool that you can? A few summers ago, our country had areas that looked a lot like 3rd world cities, I would rather have a combat pistol with me, that is also concealable, versus something with less capacity and capability.
