I was an US Army Sniper in the Vietnam War 2/502 Infantry, 101st Airborne. Our main AO was the A Shaw Valley Area on the DMZ , it was very heavy jungle (Dark Green). I switched to an M-16 as my rifle of choice. When I saw it happen, I told my friends, it didn't hit his ear. He reacted like it was cut, I'm going with the glass. I walked point for my team, so the M-16 was the best for the job where we were.. In my 9 years US Army, I knew a Capt of the MP's and he told me he once hit a man in the shoulder of his fatigue jacket, missing his actual body and it spun like a top, onto the ground. I agree, no bullet touched the Orange/Mango Wonder Boy.

I agree no bullet touched Trumpty Dump but that sure was a hell of a lot of blood for a scratch that left little to no scar a few days later. The irony is that while the assassination attempt has sparked renewed calls to ban "weapons of war" like the AR-15 used by the shooter, the Secret Service sniper popped the shooter with a bolt action rifle. Likely /far/ more accurate at that note. A hunting rifle with a decent scope, compared to some junkheads AR. The difference should be pretty clear even when typed out. One is meant for sporting and hunting. It is meant to be accurate at these distances, if not longer. The other has configurations meant for long range, but those include a /scope/ and usually longer barrels to maximise both spin and velocity on the exiting round. I still feel it is incredibly stupid (Even as an English man myself) that people declare the AR a weapon of war, and try to ban it as such. That is like saying we should have stripped peasantry of their tools during the middle ages, because some dickhead had the bright idea of strapping a bunch of leather whips tipped with steel to the end of their hoes to produce flails. Weapons, much like farming implements, are tools. Dickheads will be dickheads, what matters is ensuring those people around them are adequately trained and prepared to defend themselves should push come to shove, and that they have the EQUIPMENT to do so. Edit: After finding more info the SS did take him out and was likely the sniper on the barn to Trump's left. I believe 2 more local police snipers were on the second floor of the building next to the shooter. Also wasn't it the local SWAT that took him out and not the SS? I believe they were on the red barn behind Trump on the right (or his left). On the other barn was the SS who were looking in the direction of the shooter but didn't fire.

The man who died & the other 2 who were critically injured were Trump's idea of an acceptable sacrifice to his glorification. Notice how he posed for that photo op immediately after he got up & was getting carried off-stage. Note how he didn't waste time selling merchandise soon after this attack, which was a completely inappropriate move anyone could make.

Shooter was at 151 yards and corner of building was at 130 so that's where that comes from. An ear facing you is about half an inch wide and at 151 yards that is .331 MOA accuracy for those that are curious. What that translates too is that not even the worlds best Olympian shooter can accurately make a shot on an ear at that distance because even with the perfect shot it has an equipment limitation and you can NOT accurately predict where that round will land within its 4.5-5 inch grouping. I am glad someone finally addressed this as I was tweeting it away at larpers for a week.

I honestly think it was a blade job more than anything. Man's in the WWE hall of fame, I wouldn't put it past him. Nobody saw him bleed till he got up. My dad was an ROTC marksman, so I'm properly trained on sharpshooting. Better shot than he is. It's possible, but it requires an autistic level of dedication to a weapon, a lot of test firing, and a generally decent understanding of atmospheric conditions like wind speed and direction. Occam's razor, I don't think the shooter understood a lot of this. I think he hit three people in the crowd because he was a bad shot, and Trump capitalized on the opportunity. He's a businessman, selling to you is his whole shtick. Someone opened fire at the rally prior, and Secret Service had him down and off the stage before he could. Notice how he stuck his head out while they were trying to get him out? That was on purpose. It was a show.

from the blurry photos, its hard to say. It looks like a small 3x scope at the most. But most likely a red dot. Or just iron sights. All you can really see is a bump at the end of the handguard, where the upper receiver meets it. It's just so blurry, and the FBI isn't releasing any info at all. Kind of like they are hiding something.
