I watched the Nintendo Direct with my son, who's 5 years old and a big fan of Mario, and he was just as excited as I was for so many games on the way. Not only are we getting more for Mario Kart 8, which is likely his favorite game ever, and a new 2D Mario game that both him and I are excited for. But not only that, he's getting used to and still learning to read so a Mario RPG for November is literally perfect timing. I am so happy. 😁

Mario fans everywhere are on Cloud 9 right now. Look at what we're getting: A new classic 2D style Mario game. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon remake. Super Princess Peach 2. SUPER MARIO RPG REMAKE BABY!!! I'm so very happy right now😁 There was also Metal Gear Collection Volume #1. Unlike everything else that Konami has done these days, they've been knocking it outta the park with their compilations. I just hope that with MGS2, they'll finally make it so you can play the whole game as Snake instead of stupid raiden. Very excited to play the original first 2 MG games. Very surprising that the non-canon Snake's Revenge is being included in the collection as its not only the only game in the MG franchise that Kojima wasn't involved with (that & ugh Survive) but Snake's Revenge is also radically different from all the other MG games as it totally does away with Stealth & is just a basic run & gun action game. Star Ocean: The Second Story Remake looks great. The PS1 original is a very underrated JRPG. Persona 5 Tactics was a bit mixed. The idea of a Tactical RPG spinoff of Persona 5 is a fantastic idea & no doubt the game itself will be very fun but my main complaint with Persona 5 Tactics is the game's new cutesy character designs which looks pretty lame. Not liking the new character designs but undoubtedly the game itself is gonna be tons of fun.

The MGS Master Collection vol 1 is basically what you get with the MGS HD Collection which they took off the stores not so long ago. In MGS 2 you can play as Snake in "Snake Tales" which was made because of the Raiden backlash. Not as fleshed out as the main game naturally but you get to play through the levels as Solid Snake.

That previous MG HD Collection from back in the day was handled by Bluepoint who even with their earliest remastering/remaking gigs were still blowing everyone away with the undeniable quality that they poured into such projects.

We only downside on this direct really comes from the fact that a lot of the games at the beginning had just been announced in the other consoles' demonstrations as well. It's not Nintendo's fault, but it was a lot of "yeah we know" to start the show

Okay so Super Mario RPG remaster can't wait to get that game, a new Princess Peach game pretty good I like it, Luig's Mansion 2 The Dark Moon on the Switch I would actually play that, a new WarioWare Game looks good but I don't know if I would play it, and Super Mario Bros Wonder it looks so much fun and hands down Elephant Mario best part of the game but now here's my question to you Nintendo which i'm very disappointed in you and that is where the heck is TomoDachi Life on the Switch? I’m still in shock over Star Ocean 2 R. The original was one of the best PS1 RPGs and is still arguably the fan favorite of the whole Star Ocean series. If you have any interest in action RPGs, sci-fi meets fantasy, or games with incredibly deep systems, definitely keep an eye on this one. If the remake turns out as good as it looks, it could end up being the definitive way to play one of the all-time greats of JRPGs.

It still looks like a New Super Mario Bros. game, very bland and basic with little depth, only slightly augmented. I bet they re-use the same melody for every single level yet again like the prior games. Donkey Kong Country Returns & Tropical Freeze layed the ground work how to take classic 2D games and make them very ambitious and modern and they still haven't been beaten.

Some Nintendo fans seem to have a very low threshold of desire and acceptability these days. Nintendo can throw out any old shit and it seems people are happy. Personally, remakes/ports and 3 new games a year isn't good enough (TotK, Pikmin 4 & Mario Wonder) for a company the size of Nintendo. Disappointing.

@@Amexy-mr6lw Warioware is a trinket of game. low effort, low budget. Thought up on a monday finished by friday in the bargain bin within the month. That kind of thing. Bayonetta is Platinum games. Not a Nintendo product. Fire Emblem Engage is another game they didn't make in house and just published. You are grasping at the straws of desperation when you try and excuse Nintendo this way.
