I think Dating Beyond Borders should make a video about what they admire in each others countries and those that they find rude and offensive. It's not the national anthem lol It's actually one of the biggest hits in the history of the Japanese music scene, "Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana" (rough translation: a flower like no other in the world). It's from back in 2003 but we all sing it in preschool and elementary school. The message about not having to be anyone else, to fight and compete bc everyone is special enough from day one really resonated with a society where kids are pitted against one another from elementary school for grades and success, only to be overworked and depressed "like cattle" (sorry cows!) in adulthood. It's a huge relief when you're living under this immense stress and someone comes and says, it's alright to be proud of who you are and happy with what you have because you are enough.

@aarondodo40765 жыл бұрын
That's what she meant... "Kanji" means "Chinese characters" in Japanese, many Japanese people find Kanji to be a very difficult part of their education, hence they might be awed by Chinese people using it ALL the time.Obviously in China you use entirely Chinese characters not just partial. So that's a lot of characters.

The way I hear Koreans have conversations, they literally sound like drum beats. Chinese speaking Mandarin is either like they're always expressing themselves or in an opera. Cantonese however, I think of it as how New Yorkers talk but in China (Hong Kong).

@Erin Mo Since the island was Japanese for a long time, Taiwanese are also very Japanese in many ways: bow culture, respect, order, cleanliness etc. which are not strongly present in mainland China. Hence, Taiwanese people are NOT just southern Han Chinese people. DNA is not enough to tell on people's culture. So you Chinese people need to learn some facts :) And by the way, a lot of Taiwanese are glad that Taiwan had been Japanese for a time, since it brought prosperity and order to a back then poor and agriculture-orientend island, which Chinese rule unfortunatelly totally neglected.
@kismetau5 жыл бұрын
Erin Mo You calling Taiwanese the same as Chinese is like saying Australian and American people are British. Due to differing influences and environments, people do evolve and create new identities over hundreds or thousands of years. Maybe they share DNA but their thought processes could vary widely. Even over generations, our thinking can differ from our parents.
