I'm convinced that Grey is an actual grey alien from a world with a stable and extremely narrow set climate due to his specific and particular temperature requirements.

Grey, I lived the shifted sleep schedule of 4am - noon for about 12 years, and I wouldn't recommend it to Myke. It only worked because I worked afternoons and evenings, and although I had a lot of time to myself, which was great and helped with my mental health in the short term, I was constantly having to explain to people why I couldn't do anything before noon, and it also cut me off from being able to see friends, which was a bigger negative for my mental health in the long term. Not a net positive experience

Mike, using air conditioning and a heated seat at the same time makes perfect sense. Its the exact same as turning on the AC and sleeping with a thick duvet. You've had this conversation with Grey before and agreed with him then.

My office is basically walk-in closet in size that has a small window overlooking a tiny pond, and I actually love it after close to two decades of cubicles and work from home on a kitchen table. Just a dedicated space of my own that I can leave behind when the day's over.
@DistanceTraveled9 ай бұрын
I naturally default to falling asleep between midnight and 1 am and wake up between 9:30 am and 11:00 am. When I was writing my MSc, the best times of the day for me to write were 9:00 am to 11:00 am because I didn't care and 10:00 pm to 4:00 am between that is when my brain is the clearest. I am a night owl, and my day is late shifted. However, sometimes society doesn't approve the late shift lifecycle (like grade school), so having an early morning alarm at 7:00 am was excellent for me and sleep around 10:00 pm. It is hard, though, because I got a cortisol shift around 9:00 pm every time, but I have to use that time to get cozy.

I don't like the AC on as low as Grey, but I can attest that nothing is better than heated seats and AC when I have been having back spasms. The AC helps distract from the pain and the heat helps relax the muscle.
@OrigamiMarie8 ай бұрын
Ooh, and the AC gives you a way to dump all that heat that you're receiving from the seat, which would otherwise build up in your body and give you heat stroke.

40:34 okay… so when is grey just going to start doubling down on van/truck life? Its forever west when your always on the move
@sirBrouwer9 ай бұрын
It might work for him. in his case the van should be more formed as a office space then anything else. The only question would be would lady Grey allow it? The MOT might be a bit much in combination with there living space in central London.
@sirBrouwer9 ай бұрын
I wonder with the vision pro how well you could work if you have like a office space with multiple people wearing them. how easy can they share there work? If say three people are working on connected jobs like say two junior traffic controllers and one senior traffic controller. does the senior traffic controler see from there desk beind the two the same image the juniors see from the perpective from the two. and more interesting could then the senior person grab that window and pull it to them. and does the junior worker see it being pulled away from them. So the question is how interconnected can they be. I can see a real good situation where that might be very useful affectively are they in the same matrix system
@hippiedude22329 ай бұрын
I doubt it's that fluid. It's probably closer to emailing a copy to someone, but entertaining that idea... Two people pull on the same workspace. Copy or delete? You're working on something, your coworker is more interested in batting around the desktop making what you're doing impossible to keep track of. If other people can interact with your digital things does that mean that a notepad document created at the airport in London has to stay at the airport in London? It opens a lot of what ifs
@sirBrouwer9 ай бұрын
@@hippiedude2232 it might be more for a Vision Pro version 4 or later. I imagine that is will require a lot of possessing power. requiring a server running just for that matrix like setting. your idea of having the notepad hanging for ever in a airport but only visible for those that you share that (work)space would be quite a drain on networks. however the idea that if you would come back and that note still be there hanging where ever you have left it would also be funny. you could stick a virtual sticky note on that door with the keypad code.
@hippiedude22329 ай бұрын
@@sirBrouwer @sirBrouwer it kinda depends on how/where the storage is done. I imagine it would be like storing the notepad document in a locked folder and using GPS coordinates as the folders key phrase... But speculation is just that. Also I'm sure leaving virtual sticky notes everywhere would come with its own set of challenges... Like misplacing them as if they were actual sticky notes with important info on it kinda problems. "Now where did I write down the grocery list? Oh right I was laying under the car referencing a youtube vid on fixing the brakes when that conversation hit."
@sirBrouwer9 ай бұрын
@@hippiedude2232 I am now thinking of more errors if the sticky note is stuck to a wall and someone would remove said wall in the real world does the sticky note just hang in space or does it goe down with the wall? that later part would be a pain in the ass. you just recreated paper entirely.

Office - A moneymaking scheme where US commercial property developers do not have to pay mortgage payments on investments. They may instead keep all that money to invest in more developments while collecting rent, on the assumption they will be able to afford a lump sum payoff 10 years later. When the commercial developer cannot afford these payments, they often just obtain government grants so the city won't get a black eye. This relatively risk-free scheme has made many people billionaires. With the rise of remote work, those billionaires may now default on sone of those loans. They would love if you would feel morally reaponsible for their mistakes, and blame remote workers, instead of the inherent risk of a speculative bubble.
