The dye ran everywhere because you're supposed to wet the clothing before you add the dye so it can bleed to the wet part of the clothing. Otherwise it mostly just sits where you put it, they look good tho.

Ideally you're supposed to soak the fabric in soda ash and water overnight, then ring it out, THEN start the tie dyeing process.

Back in Girl Scouts, we would soak it in some kind of bitter liquid, squeeze it out, then we dyed it while it was still wet.

@@v0rtecks It kind of beads up and runs off when the shirt is dry but it doesn't spread (bloom) like watercolor. So if it does stay on the shirt it is just wherever it was squirted. Think wet on wet technique in watercolor.

if you end up seeing this, just wanted to let you know that if u do another tie-dye video u should tie the shirts in a design you want and soak the shirt in water for a couple hours before putting the color on (or you can make your design after the soaking), it will help the color spread better when you pour it on. also whenever I tie-dye I leave it for around 24-48 hours. IDK if any of that helps but u should try it next time

So to help with the powdery effect, try only half a pack of powder and a full bottle of warm-hot sink water(this ensures better blending and you get more dye. To help with the swirl one, add more dye to the center of the swirl, remember the whole front and back of the shirt is covered by more fabric than the sleeves. I’ve also found that soaking the shirt in warm water first, then wring it out, then dyeing it also helps saturate the fabric with the color.

Kleiner Tipp für tie dye: vorher die Klamotten nass machen und auswringen und dann erst die Farbe dazu geben. Von diesem set gibt es auch eins mit richtig geilen hellen Farbtönen. Also ein pink pink, Limetten grün und hellblau etc 💗
