Yes, I agree. Sadly if they so traumatized from previous relationship from jealousy. It ruins the current relationship, no amount of communication is going to help. Men want to have peace with their woman, if they can't they will leave that relationship.

Jealousy is a world's phenomenon. Not only in Thailand. How many farangs fall in love with a Thai woman and have to go home, if she's very beautiful your brain start to race about things that can happen or happen when you're half a world away. Not only men cheat. Cheating in Thailand is not uncommon, i heard that from my friends living in Thailand.

I had a Thai girlfriend but I couldn't take her craziness about wanting me to respond quickly to any text message she might send me. I'm not married to my phone and sometimes I don't even have my phone with me so I don't think it's unreasonable to respond 1 or 2 hours later. I saw it as lack of maturity and self-esteem on her part and she's 43 years old so I thought she would know better. Also the fact that she was a gold digger didn't help in the end.

I had this problem with my Thai wife. She was very jealous and insecure from her upbringing and past relationships. I ended up letting her go to a psychiatrist and get mental help. Trust me everyone it was a big help and worth the baht spent. Most Thai women are damaged almost beyond repair due to their family and first Thai boyfriends. But if you get a good Thai woman that loves you then she will be worth the investment so invest in her mental health trust me you will think me for it later.

Thai women have no monopoly on jealously. However I have noticed my Thai wife is very insecure. She often tells me not to forget her and asks if I am happy. I just look like at her like what the heck when she starts with don't forget her. Unfortunately logic falls short when emotion is involved.

Great topic. Thanks! I'll just add one thing, as a point of view for the western mind to consider. Communication must recognize "face" and cultural programming that may be very different from your own. You can communicate with clear words and honesty that it is "nothing," but to her it will always be "something." You must solve that "something." And be aware that as a non confrontational culture, you may even think that you have solved that "nothing" and yet inside of her you have already undone the contract. The unraveling of the relationship can begin with just one pull of the string. You may end up, quite unexpectedly, getting a very bad outcome. So stretch your perspective. Consider your cultural programming as a potential blind spot. If you recognize face as presentation then you are on the right track.

Great video, Palm. This is eye-opening. It's true that it feels kind of toxic from the perspective of a man. Because in my experience, there needs to be trust in a relationship. Feels like I better understand the woman's perspective with it being based on fear of losing something special. Seems like it can get better over time, with the right communication. Once she realizes she can fully trust and always free to ask about anything. I have to admit, it could be a challenge for me to reply to messages quickly. First of all, I love to meditate for an hour in the morning. That means I shut off all notifications on the phone. And then, with all that peace of mind and focus, I like to go into deep work mode and get things done in a flow state. Could take many hours. A Thai girlfriend might get upset haha :D

Yes jealousy is the worst. There is only 2 things that make a happy relationship Trust and Honesty. and some money helps too of course. I am coming to Thailand next year and want to have fun, I am really old but in incredible shape ,no drinking alcohol, smoking or junk food etc, but its important to tell the truth and be honest then everyone have fun and no jealousy.

A lot of (not all) thai woman fear to loose their financial situation in case of a break up.. BUT those women have to accept a lot from their falang ! Many men think they own a thai woman because they have money and can do everything they want. Most falang have little respect for thai women... I have seen it over and over... so I don't think in those cases we can mention the word "love" or jealousy. Luckily there are genuine happy couples where there is true love, but it is a minority
