Yesss, fundamentals are VERY important. So many people are to busy with the glitz and glam and don't understand that you have to have the book knowledge and fundamentals of doing nails.

I love Greg and hes amazing at what he does, but for these podcasts I prefer the way Tracy explains, she keeps it short and clear and I also enjoy your dynamic with her

Not all heros wear capes. I've been doing nails 3.5 decades. Just now starting to have thumb joint pain. Trying to control these client fingers is the main root cause. This year I'm really going to focus on getting in the habit of how you do it, Greg. I've done it before but I don't stay consistent in practicing it. You are definitely my nail Sensei. 😂 Love you guys.

Hello! I would appreciate a video addressing the following questions: 1. If you do a client's nails, and then they go partying and break a nail, would that be the nail tech's fault (perhaps the application process), or that of the client's? How do you recommend that we handle such situations. Because as starters, it is easy to self-sabotage and take all the blames when in reality it may not be our fault. 2. Would you recommend, working from home as a beginner nail tech, as opposed to renting a space out?

1. With broken nails, you would need to asses the damage. If the nail was sculpted correctly with the proper structure and the client broke it while doing something that was outside of "normal wear and tear," it would be the client's responsibility. However, if the nail was sculpted too thin or the arch wasn't built properly, breakage may happen with normal wear. Some techs have a "broken nail policy" where they will repair a break within a certain timeframe (for example 1 week) for any reason at no charge but after that, they will charge for repairs. 2. As a beginner, working from home may be harder to build a clientele since you don't have exposure through a salon. But you also wouldn't have the overhead to pay rent to a salon. Everyone has different circumstances and you would need to decide what's best for you.

I've looked in many many of your videos , have not seen one about the dangers of uv/led lamps. I've been in hospital this past week , I have gone totally blind in my right eye , I've badly burned the back of my eye and had a massive haemorrhage, irrepairable damage. Seriously I have not been looking directly at the bulbs , but I was checking that my hand was placed properly in the lamp. I used to do my nails about 15 years ago , and the lamp I had back then , I did look at my hands inside all the time but back then the lamp would take between 5 and 8 mins to cure. This lamp I bought is a lot stronger. Maybe you guys can give a shout out to your followers about the danger of these uv/led lamps as I would hate for this to happen to anyone else

The study that has been in the news recently was based on a very limited amount of data. Studies like this are done to skew a statistic to support their opinion. It wasn’t a full, non-biased study. Most gel lamps used in the nail industry emit less damaging rays than the sun and have been considered safe for many years. The minimal amount of time the hands are in the curing lamp is less than the average person is outside in the sunlight and is less than what people would use in tanning beds.
