This is really helpful. I’m learning that to really understand the exposure triangle, you have to use these lessons out in the real world, practicing in manual mode. Slowly it’s coming together.

WOW. This information is so useful and clearly presented. I know a little already, but I don't know it well enough to explain. After watching this twice, I can explain what I know while increasing that knowledge. David, it's a great presentation, thank you.

holding your breath on full inhale provides the most stability (similar to weight lifting it helps to stabilize the spine for a rigid torso). Just be sure to grab the shot and then exhale otherwise you may just faint :D

I'm really enjoying this. Question, I'm from upstate NY & U mentioned you are shooting in upstate NY, can U say where? the farm looks very familiar. I specialize in shooting weddings & school sports. For the school groups In gym I use two Godox AD-400 flagged and bounced off ceiling. Lights full power & raised high about 7 feet. Camera manual - 24mm lens -- ISO 800 F/8 @ 1/125 sec. Look forward to more videos from you.

What’s the point setting that strobe lights without diffusers at that high and creating that nasty shadows under the chin? you could avoided this by lowering them down and using defusers .The two speed lights are also too high for just a hire and shoulders light.

Hi dave, my name's Herman from indonesia. I followed your guidance to calculate DoF, buat when I insert Focal Length value to 11mm, the result become minus. why is that? (Focal length=11mm, aperture=f/2.8, CoC=0.02, distance=120 inches). how to fix this? Thank u for your time

So let me get this correctly... It is impossible to get a picture taken with decent exposure during the night on a somewhat fast moving target with more DoF without making it really grainy..
