Really good video. I had a bad tune before and now have a good tune. It’s night and day difference. My problem with the previous tuner was the throttle issue. All the power was in the first 20% of the throttle. It would boost to 10-12 psi over and over again for no reason going down interstate on flat ground and gas mileage obviously sucked.Y’all seem like guys who know what you’re doing. Thanks for making good reliable tunes for people!

Great stuff guys I just found your channel, agreed cylinder pressure can be a great way to make a truck rip the tires off but also push a head off the block as well lol. I do however have some questions about the efficiency ranges you are seeing with the stock appearing chargers vs say a borg 3xx frame charger. Hopefully I can call to discuss some thoughts and options for my 06 Cummins

Can you guys do a video of important information to look out for that the truck is trying to tell you when you read PIDs for edge an monitor. Or important values with basic readings .

How does tow/haul mode work on a tuned vehicle? Does tow haul mode still modify transmission line pressure and shift points on top of the tune settings?
@nickpriegnitz58953 жыл бұрын
Tow/Haul works largely the same in a tuned vehicle as an un-tuned vehicle. It still modifies the shift schedule, line pressure (where applicapable), and TCC strategy. Use it!

The tune that came on my 6.0 ps was really bad, got quality tunes and it's a whole new truck. Didn't even run that tune for a week before I reset the pcm and tcm because I hated it and had no tuner at the time

Just found this I have a Lbz that was tuned by some jo with a laptop haven’t really drove it at all bought it like that no coolant issues or oil issues but when I start up or after letting off the pedal in pukes white smoke like it’s a improper combustion and it’s super hazy while driving normally I know the hazy is from the tuning being to hot but could the white smoke from a improper combustion be caused from the timing in the tuning being wrong? I’ve smelled the white smoke and it’s strong but it don’t smell like raw fuel or anything I’ve ever smelled before
@Duramaxtuner2 жыл бұрын
Best thing you can do is start eliminating variables. Check codes, solve if they exist. If you can go back stock tuning and see if the problem persists, start there. If that doesn’t help I’d be suspicious of the injectors next. Guys who cheap out on tuning usually cheap out on injectors as well. Good luck

Just got a smarty tuner for my truck 2000 24v today and lost 5 gear on freeway 🤯my fifth gear is neutral lol what ? now I’m im shopping for a new nv4500 instead of my calibrated 64
@bricetingle43453 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your fifth gear nut fell off common issue but if you don’t hear grinding you got lucky and it fell to the bottom pull the trans and have the nut welded on and you won’t have that issue again

Besides you. Who are the other reputable tuners out there? Not just for power but for reliability also
@dakotadickens37473 жыл бұрын
Most of your big companies are gonna be reputable. If they wasn’t they wouldn’t be in business. People like kory Willis with ppei, Idaho rob, and the list goes one. What you don’t want is to get some random tunes from Local shops without knowing what they use or using their tunes when they don’t have the reputation and data to back it. Also know that almost all tunes even good ones can hurt the longevity of transmission and torque converter. Smoke is hard on pistons. Just do a lot of research.
@dakotadickens37473 жыл бұрын
xv70 1 that is not even close to being true. Factory tuning is death on emission trucks. The big 3 do not optimize trucks because they offer warranty’s and then never back those warranty’s most of the time. If factory tuners were the best then there would have never been a market for tuning

Is Smokey really that bad
@wilmingtonperformancediese2303 жыл бұрын
Yes, smoke is incompetence in today’s time . There’s no excuse a diesel can’t be tuned smoke free, until you reach a certain point on fuel injector size ..
@Duramaxtuner3 жыл бұрын
Yes! Smoke means you are wasting fuel, causing higher than necessary heat, and often it actually costs you power.
@lifted98213 жыл бұрын
@@Duramaxtuner so your saying there is no pros to running lbf to try to get a turbo to spool faster?
@Duramaxtuner3 жыл бұрын
@@lifted9821 Turbo spool is impacted by exhaust housing design, turbine wheel dimensions, and vane position more than by excessive exhaust flow. In most cases, you can spool a turbo just as quickly without smoke as you can with smoke. Now, if you are talking about a single s400 or similar turbo, smoke while spooling up may be inevitable. However, most of the newer, large vixed vane turbos are being designed for quicker spool-up. Thereby reducing how much smoke will be emitted at lower boost pressures.

Hard to believe that this guy runs the company. Nick comes across great but it has not been my experience when dealing with the company. Calling just rings through a bunch of ring groups without being answered. Sales person never answers post sale the phone or email. Had to trick him into calling me back. Said I would have my tune in a couple of days, it's now been 3 weeks and not once have they reached out to me to say what's going on. At this point it's been a wasted investment.
@ks_11113 жыл бұрын
You do realize that many businesses are lucky if they have 10 percent of their staff available.....4 wheel parts is horrible right now for service. But they are down to a skeleton crew. 3 hours on hold is normal right now. Use your brain numb nuts, im sure you can do it
@taylorsrus95433 жыл бұрын
@@ks_1111 I would be OK with that, they have not communicated that. They set the timetables. They had time when it was payment time. There salesperson said a couple of days. It's been 3 weeks. Had they called and said there would be a delay, I would understand, they have decided not to. Monday the salesperson said I would have something by the end of the day. It's going into Friday, still nothing delivered, no email, no phone call. You have no idea what you are talking about so I am not sure why you want to be insulting. I can only imagine how you would react to someone holding $900 of yours with zero response.
