Thanks for clarifying this to me. I read the Holy Science many years ago and when I heard that we are about to enter into the Satya yuga (that was a couple of months back), I was confused. I thought you were contradicting Sri Yukteswar Giri. But by giving this explanation, my mind is clearer about this now. I guess that in the "Holy Science", Sri Yukteswar was just scratching the surface of this large and complex topic about the Yugas.Thanks a lot!

You know I read somewhere ( quite a long time ago ) that the star that the 3 wise men followed wasn't a star, but It was accually Venus and Jupitar, extremely close and the combined reflective light of the two was soo bright that it looked like a giant star. It's not about 2012, it's about the cosmic transition and cycle that we are undergoing. It's been going on for decades and is culminating in the next 20 years or so. That Swami Sri Yukteswar in his Holy Science makes no reference to 2012 is what is currently puzzling me. Kali Yuga ended September 1699, and since then we have been in the ascending phase of the Dwapara Yuga. I still don't understand the significance of 2012 with respect to Vedic literature.
