Choose a training class and/or a trainer who has attended places like Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, Kyle Lamb, Bob Vogel, Warrior Poet Society, (to name a few of the best). Frequent dry practice of short duration to learn your handgun as well as you know your cell phone, tv remote, controls in one’s car, etc…. To have the confidence (under stress and violent threats) to remain calm requires KNOWING one’s weapon. Wishing all of the “unplugged” the BEST in 2025!

Choose a trainer who was in Khandahar province or in the Battle of Fallujah.

All men need to know how to handle firearms. Important skill to have. I’m fortunate I learned firearms as a boy in the 1970s.

I grew up in a rural area in the 70s and was taught to handle firearms by my grandparents. I've been shooting since I was about four.

Maybe I missed it, was wondering why Rich never brought up firearms training before, glad to know he is down with it.

DSA Tulsa OK. Defensive Shooting Academy pistol and rifle, shotgun. Average 30% better after a 2 day class.

One thing for firearms training, but the shotgun sports are a great time.

Oh.. Toronto.. what are you DOING playing gun training!!?? YOU CANNOT STOP AT A 7-11 WITH YOUR REDTRICTED FIREARM LOCKED IN YOUR CASE!!!

firearms training SHOULD teach you discipline and respect for all firearms EVERYONE should know how to shoot at least a pistol, IMO

Tried boxing for 4 months (1v1 personal training once a week) even sparred. Had to force myself to bother going the last 3 weeks. It was meh, didn't see the big deal with it. I think guys either truly love it or they're just doing it to feel manly to say they box.

Pretty certain only.. ignorant persons take these courses. RIIIIHHT.. first time. I had my gun license when I was 15 years old. Yeah.. boxing.. you need to do that. If you need GUN TRAINING... You're lifetime beginner.

Dude is clearly ignorant about Canadian gun laws and culture as are most Americans 🙄

99% of firearms "training" don't teach you valuable, life saving, real world things. Are they fun, because they shouldn't be. You should leave a day of real training feeling like you just got your ass kicked.

An IDPA or USPSA match is 99% no good? A class with 99% of instructors is useless? What specifically is this 1% of training that is the bees knees?
@swing2gether27 күн бұрын
@jmf1976jmf IDPA and ISPSA is not a form of real world training. It is a shooting sport, plain and simple. The cold range rules and unrealistic race guns are just 2 of the many problems. I shot IDPA for many years and argued with them till my eyes bled. It's not realistic, it's not training. It's simply bad practice that'll end up getting fudds unalived.
