Great video! Thank you! I have a Coralife biocube 14 set with the basics for equipment. It currently is housing a pair of clowns, bonded yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp, and two emerald crabs. I would like to add another fish and turn this into a reef tank. What would you add?

I am considering getting a 32 bio and had three questions. I am not new to the saltwater hobby but I am new to reef. My previous tanks were 55 and 90 gallons I am extremely conservative when it comes to fish and space. Personally I believe people shouldn't even put most tangs in things like 90 gallons. So basically I'm trying to approach this from a very Humane standpoint. I have heard the possum wrasse is a good small fish. I had also heard about the pygmy angle but people told me it would absolutely be too big eventually for a 32. And last but not least I really want a tiger pistol/goby pairing. I ended to know if these guys can sometimes take over the bottom of a tank and be a little aggressive towards other inverts. I was thinking of getting the red sea 200xl (42 gallon display tank) to open things up a little more but 2000 dollars for a small tank is tough to swallow. My landlords management company has a limit of 10 gallons and I'm trying to pass off either as a ten gallon lol. Because of the cube shape I hope to fool them lol

This is 2 months late but your good on the angel for sure, and the rest of your stocking as well. Tbh you can easily add more fish than what you’ve suggested, like clowns, fire fish, ect.

What fish did you include in your bio cube in this video? Or what do you have in there currently? (I also live in South Carolina along the coast, might have to come visit the store someday!)

is there a max number of snails and hermit crabs and shrimp in a 32 bio cube? TIA and will that number affect the number of fish?

What about hermit crabs? Also do you have a blueprint design or sample species list of your display biocube?

I like astria snails as opposed to hermit crabs in the biocube. There’s nothing wrong with having a few hermits in there if they are of a “reef safe” inclination 😊 but in small spaces, crabs can be opportunistic and you can’t go wrong with snails. Clown fish, small gobies, small cardinal fish and fire fish ( dart fish family) are a great family of fish to keep in the biocube. We preach , one fish per 10 gallons so 3 to 4 small fish are the extent I would pack a biocube. 😊

I have a thin stripe hermit the size of a baseball and need to break down his current tank. Would a 29g biocube be acceptable for him and if so would it be a showcase for him or would he be able to have friends?

As many astrea snails as you can justify 😊 narcarius snails for the sand , and two sand sifting stars would be a good start. I also don’t think you can have too many cleaner shrimp 🐟🐠 Good luck!

I've seen some people put Snow Flake Eels in their Biocube, but don't they get around 6' long? Curious to know what you think of this and if it is actually safe to put into a Biocube.
@FishyBusinessSC

Believe it or not I actually HAVE a customer who did this. The fact is, long term it’s not a good idea. I would say if you had a baby eel you could keep it for , Perhaps 3 years in a Bio cube . But yes, sooner or later it’s gonna get too big . But it only gets about 30 inches at full aquarium growth just so you know

@@FishyBusinessSC Thank you for the information! I wish I could get one, but I don't want to put it into such a small tank. I had a 50 gallon but went down to the biocube instead. Maybe in 3 years I can get a bigger tank again. Lol. So they are pretty slow growers, then? Something to think about.

You are right. The suggestion was only shown to suggest the maximum size starfish. We have had several experienced saltwater aquarist that set bio cubes up for “species specific “ environments 😊 and wanted to address the video to these people as well 🐠🐡😊
