***UPDATE - There have been a TON of comments about whether or not metal utensils can be used on the Pit Boss Ultimate Griddle. I had previously received information that metal utensils could be used. However, after reaching out for clarification, questions about warranty issues, etc., my personal advice going forward would be to use metal utensils at your own risk. The actual User’s Manual states that “the best utensils to use are wood, silicone, or nylon, as these materials will reduce the wear on the cooking surface”. My integrity and the integrity of the information that I present to you is my number one priority! I apologize for any confusion.

There's a lot flavors developed during the process. thanks for the content

I just reached out to Pit Boss because it checked a lot of boxes, EXCEPT, they do not support or build an adaptor for natural gas. I wanted it for a built-in kitchen. Happy Easter Flat Top King! Let me tell you brother I am sooooo glad you brought up being able to use metal utensils on this Pit Boss Ceramic Coated Griddle. We made French toast on this Bad Boy this morning and we decided that it wasn’t worth the effort and had lost or mojo to keep on fighting the fight. It seems that everything had a tendency to stick to the griddle and if the griddle wasn’t over laden with oils a butter it didn’t matter what we cooked on it it would stick if using silicone utensils. We’ve used this thing about 10 times and to be honest with you we were seriously going to take this thing back or put it on the curb to let someone else fight for the cause. It made the camp Chef and Black Stone look pretty darn attractive. Thank you for your videos and honesty and keep up the good work. God Bless!!!

@@TheFlatTopKing I cook for 2 to 4 on the norm. I was a short order cook in my 20's and those grills are bigger. On the black stone it felt like I was always running out of room and it became a balancing act sometimes. (Kids don't eat like adults) The surprise to the 600 is temp control. I played with it for a bit, and got it to 500 on the right dropping to 200 on the far left. I can make eggs and pancakes on one end and all my meat on the other side. and anything else in the middle. It's a case of bigger is better lol. When we do have people over the 3 things, they want are Cheese steak, chop cheese, and smash burgers. The most I fed was 32 adults, 12 kids and never had a problem, and never ran out of room. Something else I did was I had a gas line run so I don't use propane any more.

Sponsorship is different than a brand ambassador in my opinion. I still cook on my Camp Chef and also have recently purchased a Blackstone on my own dime. I have and still cook on all three. In my conversation with pit boss it was discussed from the start that I wanted the ability to cook on any griddle I wanted to insure honesty in all aspects. I wanted the ability to be versatile with viewers to allow for fair competition. All I have done since day I is just be honest with both the food and reviews. With that being said NO IT DOES NOT SWAY MY OPINION ON ANYTHING GOOD OR BAD. Heck in my last video I made on Whiskey Cinnamon Pancakes I said after cooking them that I didn't like em. I called Camp Chef last week about my 4 burner griddle having 3 rows of 6 bumps on the surface and was told it was a manufacturer defect, but I was not under warranty so I should buy a new one. All I wanted was for them to tell me the best way to fix the problem.
@TheFlatTopKing Жыл бұрын
When you mean bumps...you can actually feel it..I dont really know what to suggest I kind stay out of that stuff...I have found through this journey that there are all kind of people when it comes to this...1 small scratch on the wheel and they are ready to burn it down. then of course the other hand a few dints and they said no problem,..IF its affecting the cooking capability then absolutely might want to look at a replacement..maybe they sell just the top only..Honestly its up to you..if by buying a new one you mean because its affected the surface so much Maybe look after market and buy a negotiated one for cheap and resurface it ...
@hotrodbob. Жыл бұрын
@@TheFlatTopKing Camp Chef told my that it happened in the manufacturing process, so they Acknowledged it was a factory defect but wouldn't offer anyway for me to fix it that's all I wanted give me a suggestion on how to fix it and it is 3 rows of 6 in each row little bumps are not high but therere enough that when you scraped the griddle top you scrape off the patina in every spot where there's a bump

The Microwave Queen I appreciate your response and love your husbands videos until I heard the Pit Boss endorsement . I believe it would be a better grill without a ceramic coating . It has an nice large surface and good grease catcher , but the surface will be quickly damaged with standard use with metal utensils . I will continue to support your channel for the food / recipe portion .
@OliverLeveritt2 жыл бұрын
Pit Boss makes "regular" griddles without the ceramic. Get one of those. For those who'd like a ceramic coated top, it wouldn't be better without a ceramic coating. Don't use metal on it. I don't even use metal on my cast iron and stainless steel cookware. No scratches and gouges.
@noway25632 жыл бұрын
I was all in on the Pitboss, I question the toxins being released with their coatings . I’m sticking with cold rolled steel to stay on the safe side .,
@TheFlatTopKing2 жыл бұрын
No problem. I think and no for sure that was a thing in the past. That was note from Teflon not ceramic coated. That’s completely different technology. Not saying yes or no just giving all information

I bought a 360° griddle one month ago, almost by mistake and without knowing anything about this product. Now this griddle is working non-stop, gracias! After watching your video I started to think for the next season to buy me a flat top grill like yours and give my beautiful 360° griddle to my father in law, and everybody will be happy 😉😉 What do you think about 360° griddle?

@@TheFlatTopKing id like to hear all your pro’s and con’s about each. I like your style of cooking and all the twists you incorporate. Your definitely a “MAD SCIENTIST” Brotha 😉👌. I am interested in your Pitboss, and now that you say can use metal utensils on it might be a contender. Im using a Cast iron flattop on a Camp chef explorer 2 burner stove but want an Official flat top. I think with the pitboss, my wife would be able to use it (less maintenance it seems). Personally id like to get a Camp chef or Blackstone like yours, but with this episode it made me rethink my wants. Appreciate any insights you give. Budget is around 3-500. im looking more functionality and comfort than the name brands, and since i’ll be doing most the cooking id like to see the pros-cons. again excellent episode. ive seen your Camp chef and Blackstone and would love to own 1 to Throwdown like you do 👊🏼😎🤙🏼! I know everyone asks, but id like to know which of your 3 would you choose for ease of use/cooking abilities for the budget. Ive seen you use all 3 as well as your grill. Either way cant wait for the next episode 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

I havent used the grill nearly as much because of that same idea. I have a weber and prefer the charcoal taste. That to me is like a perceived value...Also in my next video I will explain that although its a gas grill since there is no lid it really dosnt work as well as it should.

Maybe one big question is GrillGrate. I have camp chef portable units which I've used for camping & outdoor group activities. I have Louisiana Grill note have an opportunity to use much which I put Grill Gates. The Camp Chef model you showed can accommodate GrillGrates. The other items not covered are wind protection and heat distribution. Yet you mentioned the Treager flat top provides best heat distribution in previous video. I don't know if I need or want a plancha at this time other than what I have a consideration or options. What do you think about GrillGrates? 🖖🕊️

I was all in for the Blackstone, it’s got a cover and I really like the knobs until Camp Chef had a deal. Now watching you cook on the non-stick Pit Boss, it’s something to think about. I agree that the hood is an absolute must. The Camp Chef aluminum grease containers are cheap but shipping cost just does not make sense to buy replacements. I just use Sam’s Club foil sheets (500ct for $10), it just makes cleaning faster.

I’m a cast iron guy, my teenager has destroyed Every non stick pan we have ever owned. Except the set my wife washed with a green scotchbrite. I’m still not sure if she did that for a new pot and pan set 😂. Anywho, my vote would be for a steel surface, if it gets wrecked, easily cleaned and reseasoned. Just my $.02

I have 2 camp chef 2 burner explorers. One has the 24 by 32" griddle top And the other one I use as a stand alone For boiling seafood making soups, Canning, Baking bread etc. I am an excellent chef And the only thing I have an ego for is my knives, And that being said Camp Chef in its simplicity and reliability and durability is my choice. I don't buy all the hyped up gadgets To try to impress people, My food will do that.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought a Camp Chef instead of a Blackstone. I find it ironic that a company like Blackstone with poor quality of construction has a very weak and unreceptive customer service department. I finally fixed the issues myself. Another lesson learned the hard way…
