Souness has never uttered one complimentary word towards any United player. He’s walking proof that great players don’t necessarily make great pundits. When it comes to United his name is Sourness.

He was a pundit years ago on rte Irish punditry panel along with Johnny Giles and Eomon Dunphy who are both very bitter old men. Sourness took on board their negative approach and the rest is history. He was a nasty player and was part of a Liverpool team that dominated a poor period of English football.

Kobbie's greatest attribute was how composed he is, it's like if there's 3 guys coming at him, he will keep his cool and get past them.

That became immediately obvious in the England game against, I think Brazil. Rice made a short, not very sensible pass to Kobbie in a tight spot and Kobbie did a little trick against 2 Brazillian midfielders and left them standing. To do that in your England debut, within minutes of coming on, says in capital letters I'M A BIT SPECIAL, LOOK OUT. And so it has proved. Of course it still took ages for Southgate to notice.🤡

If anyone STILL thinks Southgate has a clue about football. Remember this. He had Kobbie in his squad AND STILL prioritized Trent in a role he had never played, over Mainoo. When that failed he tried Connor Gallagher, who was out of his depth and mostly out of position. FINALLY he tried Mainoo who fit straight away and looked like a Rolls Royce in comparison to the others. Kobbie just has IT. Whatever that is. Modrich had it. Its not just the Makelele role, its the vision, the time, the feeling. I think he'll be up there with the best in Europe very quickly.

I’m black, and Souness is right. Mainoo has a lot of qualities ON the ball but he makes a lot of positional mistakes still. He’s still very young for that role and i expect him to grow into it and become a master. Also he almost always fades in games. You’ll be hard pressed to find a game where Mainoo was impressive in the second half. It might be a concentration issue or a stamina one.

Mainoo did wonder too much fr however Rice literally played one forward pass in that entire game, & Kane was non- existent. Kobbie’s 19 years old, still has time to develop his rare skill set & can be very proud of his Euros 💯

He’s annoying but take the emotion out & learn something.. He did wander a great deal in that game & it’s not a bad thing to look for areas to improve is it? Next final he’ll be even better imo 😌
