8:14 Surprisingly naive of NL to think that the huge number of systems and crafting resources are a mistake. We've known for years now that this kind of obviously unnecessary complexity is put in games on purpose to provoke exactly the kind of overwhelmed reaction NL had. We have seen the design documents, seen the research. That overwhelmed state of mind makes some players more likely to buy microtransactions, apparently. Even purely cosmetic ones.

I really hope they add this one to a Game Pass or something. I assume they will since they added all that microtransaction currency, DLC characters, etc. I assume that's to make money when they aren't getting that initial purchase. But this looks like the kind of game I want to spend a few hours on once, and then I'll be done. Do I sound like a crazy person?

Steam is telling me it's around $100 for full price (and regional pricing usually means things are cheaper for me on Steam, so I have no idea what the actual price is) which feels insane to me even as someone who buys full priced Nintendo games. I hope 2K decides to put it on Game Pass too but that feels unlikely :(

And then I go to the Steam page and realize, "oh, right, they want infinity dollars for this." And it feels like whatever version you buy you'll end up regretting it for one reason or another vs the others, etc. I just don't want to have to think about all that stuff.

@@chamanthas It's about 60 bucks for the game, with additional versions costing more. They include skins / Season Pass DLC which you don't need. I bought the skins solely because I wanted that Ghost Rider outfit - yes, I'm bad with money. That said I've been able to get a lot out of this game. Story-wise I am about as far as NL is, but I've got 30 hrs of playtime already because I spend more time doing side missions, crafting, etc
