I always appreciate these retronomics videos. I collected GC games in the early days when no one wanted them back in 2012-2016 and game prices had not really differentiated yet.

yeah I got most of mine when they were new /gamestop was closing out due to the Wii coming in. I don't think I could handle buying them this time around

That's what I've been doing so far. Frees up money for things that I have a nostalgic tie to. I also made an updated video that I published a couple days ago.

Regarding Skies of Arcadia, it recently became public knowledge that one of the key staff behind it (Reiko Kodama) passed away back in May. It's possible that the price could go up for that a bit as people become interested in games she directed. A lot of people who've played SoA have expressed nostalgia for the game as part of their tribute.

I am glad to see this series back :D I am glad I brought most of these games before prices spiked up (although I had to do some... sacrificies for some games like Cubivore and Skies of Arcadia Legends... Aw..) If Nintendo ever port Gamecube games, they would definitely drop in price like Sunshine did, even if it would take months.

Ikaruga on the switch and PS4 are getting reprints by Nicalis (says coming soon), not sure if that would affect the GameCube version price though.

Yeah I have touched on it. Usually the announcement causes the spike but then it drops off and once it actually releases there's little to no effect.

I sold a sealed copy of Disney Sports Basketball in 2018 for $3084. and still have 4 left. I also sold a sealed copy of Gotcha Force for $1791 and have 6 left... I purchased these games at Toys R Us in summer 2004 for $4.99 each

As people make their USA collections, how do you feel about the prices on the Asian Japan games as people want to expand their collections?

I think the prices will rise especially ones that are just Japanese versions of expensive american versions. The more the accessible the game is the more expensive it will be. For example - Chrono Trigger for Super Famicom is less than 30 bucks. Meanwhile Little Samson for the Famicom is $200+ loose

Why would you want to spend big bucks on these games? I still have my collection from back then and I'd never sell them but, I'd also never buy them at stupid prices.

I'm 27 and when the gamecube came out my parents were broke af lol now as a design engineer I'm paying to play the games I played at a friend's house, walmart kiosk, rentals lol I'm assuming when every console comes out we have several ppl in the states that can't afford it and will more than likely purchase it when they get older for the nostalgia

Yeah DJFFNY is worth the price. I mean, I'm not paying that price, I already own it for cheaper. But if anyone wants it, grab it, it's a really fun game.

Also the MGS Twin Snakes flaking is just the DISC ART, which doesnt effect how it plays its only just cosmetic

The Gamecube has settled But its only up from here. Its starting to get really old. Prices of GameCube games tell us that there are a lot of people who don't want to just load up a hard drive and play these games on the wii or know that they can. Hah!
