Fun Fact: All the recipe for disaster gloves were previously just called "Gloves" however, due to all of them resembling the armor types from bronze to dragon and barrows, the community referred to them as such until sometime shortly after OSRS launched where they got renamed to the community names

I'm surprised the Zombie Axe didn't make it on the list here at all. It is hard carrying me on my Iron and I used it on my main a good bit when I didn't want to use my Tent Whip charges. Specifically if you're spamming Moons of Peril, it's a great value and you only need to bring a spec weapon as the Z-axe can do all 3 bosses. It does ofc get outclassed by the Bludgeon later and the Whip has better Slash DPS.

this vid is aimed at mains. Mains should never really buy a zombie axe because a whip is the same price. Even for irons the zombie axe is questionable. Because in the optimal progression you would get a bowfa or scorching bow and use those to get a hasta. Which is about equal or better to zombie axe in all slash & crush situations, while having a stab option.

@@tijlaerts Need to also remember that the bowfa is locked behind a grandmaster level quest and a long stay at arguably some of the most boring and frustrating pvm content in the game (not to mention the far higher smithing/crafting reqs in the high 70s to low 80s to even assemble/corrupt the armor/bow), meanwhile a zombie axe is gated behind a very short quest and only needs 65 attack and 66 smithing to repair and use, both of which are completely free skill requirements.

@@tijlaerts zombie axe is obtainable so much sooner, it is great for a long time, it is better than a dscim (against most things). And while I agree that TDs to a hasta is a great progression tree, zombie axe to moons, is a great way to get to decent gear for TDs. Bofa is a much longer grind than all of this, going on rate for the bofa is a 70 hour grind, not to mention the hundreds of hours to get all the requirements.

Honestly a really well done gear progression video, I really hope this ends up blowing up massively. I very much appreciate giving light to some more lesser known/obscure lower tier gear items like the spined/yak hide for ranged, and the honestly bonkers stats on the mixed hide equipment. I will also give massive thumbs up for this being the first gear progression video I have seen where the nowadays completely useless rapier is not being thrown at ones face WAY too early, where it would just be an obvious waste of money (I would still put primordials to the end aswell because they are frankly just dogshit for their price, 30m for a +1 str is about as terrible of a deal as 55m for a 3% difference between a twhip and the rapier is). I would honestly give a straight up 9/10

Its funny how op mixed hide is. The boots are bis for melee and ranged in one slot untill ironman have acces to dragon boots, and the mixed hide armour is even better than bandos in some cases when using stab.

What’s the consensus on Purging Staff? Plan on learning Tormented Demons and maybe trying Demonic Gorillas. Also looks good for Zulrah? Hate this part of the progression where there’s 100 options and everything jumps from 1-5m with a few pieces around 20m to 50-100m per item.

Loved the vid! Really enjoyed the thinking outside the box. Small notes - Sarachnis cudgel is 65 attack. Also maybe would have been good to mention Monkey Madness when talking about the D scim, since it's a decently big obstacle of a quest for newer players. Mixed hide top is an interesting choice - it's more of a niche item for me for things like pking or specific hybrid/tribrid setups. Obsidian platebody isn't cheap but it's pretty much better in every way for melee, and the fighter torso is definitely the ideal choice even up to much higher levels. I'd also argue even a classic Dragon Chain has a niche at the 60 bracket for the defence bonuses and pure aesthetics. I see why you ended up with the mixed hide top though for low level DPS on a budget

My biggest factor for the mixed hide was the budget restraints. I could have listed all of the BIS gear for each level, but at that point we'd be getting Bandos at 65 defense, and the only people doing are credit card warriors. I also love the d chain, I almost added it for style points alone lmao

One really good piece of range gear you missed out on was the hunter's sunlight crossbow which is quite insane due to combination of low price(both for the weapon itself and it's ammo), high damage, and 3 tick attack speed. Requires 66 range so would go in your Soldier(80) tier. It's also got decent attack range if needed. Also for your baby melee tier instead of going with the unholy book I think the book of war would be a better fit since it gives +2 str bonus.

To anyone watching this to learn something: there are a lot of things that make little improvements but you really shouldnt be throwing out full gear for the next tier until 70s maybe. Thats pretty generalized advice but in general the bonuses you get going between these tiers is minor and youll probably be in your tier 70 gear for a while making it worth the upgrade. Otherwise you turn over the full set and by the time you get the gear together its time to go to the next tier. Focus on your weapon choice to maximize DPS, armor is generally secondary. Edit to add: you get my sub for production value. This is well made with a lot of info.

This is such a great overview with a lot of niche tips! I had no clue the spined gear was so good. Tip for all future viewers on the melee progression: don't actually wait until 80s for your dragon defender. It's available to you as early as 65 str and att, and there is no reason not to get it as soon as possible.

Watched the first 3 brackets. Some of these recommendations are interesting, but I wouldn't recommend the blood moon gear at any point. DPS is important, but it's not everything. In fact, I would avoid degrading gear altogether, except for questing and fighting bosses for unlocks. Fire cape is a weird one, as for some it's easy, for some it's hard. It really depends on reflexes. Saracnis Cudgel can be replaced with the dragon mace, as the prayer bonus and spec are very useful. Also, would not recommend prayer books; I find the defenses of a shield more useful 90% of the time.

Ignore the t40 ranged part. Get green dhide an avas and a a bone crossbow and park your butt at sand/ammonite crabs until 70 or preferably 75. It's a grind, it'll be boring. but you will thank me when you have a sick ass Toxic Blowpipe which will open soooooooo much of the game for you.

Bottom tier 40, swap the rune armor for guthix god armor for the +1 prayer bonus for each slot. Book of war over the unholy book for a +2 to strength, finally either an explorer’s ring for the ring slot for +1 prayer or a warriors ring for the slash bonus at 68k.

I think there should probably be a tier 70 segment. Lots of decent upgrades for armor and weapons are available at this level. god D’hide, Barrows armor, Abysall whip/Dagger, Armadyl armor and crossbow, the Wilderness weapons, etc

this is not a deep dive, there are a lot of things omitted. its a decent starting point, but take the entire video with a grail of salt. He doesnt give you any of the actual conciderations that were made for picking the gear, he talks about the defensive stats of all of the gear like that matters, when in actual fact offensive stats matter considerably more. For a specific example where an explination would have been helpful, he recommends obby legs and a mixed hide chest for the 60 stats melee build. When his advice should have been if you are really on a budget go full mixed hide (mixed hide legs only when on stab), and if you have gp for full obby (chest and legs). At this stage you definately don't need 3 different styles of weapons either, d scim is the perfect early-midgame weapon

I feel like not mentioning mystic combination staves was a missed opportunity, as they're not that much pricier outside of smoke and my mystic dust staff has a permanent slot in my bank for easy home teleports and earth spells. I also question why you would gloss over the magnitude of Recipe For Disaster, both in terms of the actual questing and the time spent on getting skill requirements (looking at you, Awowogei), if you're going to bemoan the 5 hours doing Barbarian Assault for the Fighter Torso. The gloves are absolutely worth it, but I know several clanmates who didn't get them until way after the 60's combat bracket because of the work required.

I'm surprised there isn't a tier for inbetween 1b and 7b; also you should put an equipment/gear tab graphic that gets updated as you add things to your list - it would be much easier to look at how the build is progerssing as you describe the stuff when you add it to the list. Amethyst darts is interesting - I wouldnt expect their numbers to be good given lack of accuracy & attack range. I'm surprised you recommend ruby bolts over diamond, I don't remember killing anything with super high hp at that bracket, but I guess there's more mid level stuff in the game that I might be forgetting, especially if newer higher level quest bosses are the quest-related bosses im thinking about. ..may edit and add more as i keep watching later :)

Fire vid, I will say not a huge fan of the melee stats for the brackets as strength levels matter so so so much more than gear. Most people rush to get 92ish strength and then grind attack and defence accordingly. Also prayer is so damn expensive that it's kind of undermining how much these already kinda expensive options are. I'm around that base 80 range and just can't afford the upkeep of those items. I will say outside of that 60 and 80 brackets, great video, but I think you should clarify at the beginning of your video that stats are just more important in mid game.

I'd recommend skipping the Spined helm and get the 5 extra defence levels for archer's helm instead. If you need money just go to varlamore and pickup wines in hunter's guild and sell them to vendor. Takes less then 5 min to get enough money and maybe 15min for the levels. Or zero time it by afking combat ;)

I really want an ironman gear progression ladder to go from mid game point ( rune cbow, iban/warped sceptre, zombie axe/d scim) to end game max gear. I just did moons for eclipse/blue armor, and next i'm thinking get all the barrows armor, and then voidwaker, and finally bowfa? and from there use voidwaker, warped sceptre, and atlatl/bowfa to go for bandos, armadyl, and inqisitor drops, and then do raids 1, 2, 3 last?

aranea boots are also a good alternative over prims/pegs/eternals also DO NOT corrupt the bowfa as a main, masori is much better value overall and losing about 20 mil from corrupted bowfa and all the crystal charges when you eventually sell it is awful

what about the regular masori armor? I was wondering if I should buy that gear?

masori is mostly only worth it once you have a twisted bow because masori is so expensive but bowfa + crystal armor is more effective for your money. it can be good if you use blowpipe a lot, but other upgrades are more important generally. elite void does fine.

regular masori is basically just as good as the fortified. If you're taking much damage while ranging, you're doing a lot of other things wrong.

masori is absolutely worth getting. regular is much less than (f) which can be a later upgrade with arma plates
