Germans are strange, what they eat is even stranger. Find out what kind of food people eat in Germany for breakfast, you might never look at them the same way. Life in Germany and it‘s cuisine are not for everyone!

As a Bavarian I can confirm this. We drink 1 liter of beer in the morning 365 days/year and only eat Weißwurst and Brezn. But you must finish your Weißwurst before noon, otherwise the angel Aloysius will snatch you and imprison you at a beerhall, where you have to drink Maß after Maß, while you are being guarded by a ferocious Wolpertinger.

In college I was in Germany for summer music festivals and they had the best food there. The breakfast was such an enormous spread of great varieties of fresh breads, cheese, jam, fruits, tea etc… I would even hoard some for the day thinking it was the best food I’d ever seen, but no then LUNCH and DINNER would come along and… *mind blown*

This happened to us (Americans) while traveling through Germany for a college music tour... people would literally hoard the food because it was so good. That's not to say I can't cook myself a good breakfast at home, but I had never eaten breakfast like that before. It was awesome.

for us it's the other way around. First time at a non-german breakfast buffet i was amazed with all of the cooked stuff they had for breakfast. In german countries you're only allowed to eat cooked eggs and toast for breakfast (only on the weekends though), the rest of the breakfast is cold. Pancakes, sausages, baked beans and all of that stuff blew my mind, it was as if i was having lunch

That's exactly the way many people from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg feel about a certain type of people ( I am certainly not saying that there are no exceptions from the rule) from Northern Germany incl. Northrhine Westphalia: They laugh about them wholeheartedly - them being so reserved, not very communicative, sometimes kind of boring, a little uptight, having a hard and rather harsh accent (not the mellow Southern one), taking themselves so seriously.... And not being able to manage the school system which is way more demanding in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.

"A German without a sausage is like an American without a gun" I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree. Shit you forgot Fleishsalad which is just cold cut meat ends with mayo (Full fat) and if you're from the North of Germany like me, Krabensalat is mandatory as well. Man, I want some Zwiebelmetwurst now! I have to go to a specialty store in Canada for that and then it's only mediocre at best :(

American bread should be qualified as a dish, rather than a food. You want to eat the toppings without getting your fingers dirty, so the bread is optimised to be as inoffensive as possible. No smell, no taste, no bite, no crunch.... nothing to distract from the toppings. Just an edible dish.

Is impossible not to love your chanel, now I can't sleep because I can't stop laughing. My ex husband is German, exactly like this, you should mention how sharp on time Germans are, the extreme opposite than brasilians, we use to fight like dog and cats under this argument. I love Germany.

Okay this is funny. My grandfather full German. He looks a lot like you. He was a toehead blue eyes nose just like yours. Bread with every meal love to meet up every kind I got to surprise him with blood sausage. That pleased him so much. Oh my gosh and he ate muesli on Sundays too what are you serious he did this because he was German. He always had to have butter on his bread. This is quite hilarious because ironically practically everything you stated my grandfather loved.

But it's true. you don't cook anything in the morning - at maximum you boil an egg, also no pancakes or whatever. Sausage for breakfast is more a UK thing, with baked beans and so on. Sausages is kind of an untrue Stereotype. It's rather cold cuts. (Slices)

German medical doctors, surgeons eat at noon only some sandwich types and coca cola, fanta, sprite, lipton ice tea, very light meals as I had visited my cousin at Grosshagen Hospital Munich.

So I visited distant family in Bavaria in 1980s. They had bread so heavy you had to cut it with hand cranked bread saw, I am serious. Aldi used to sell the same bread (pre-sliced), but what it really did was made you 💩! Great for weigh-ins, fit in vacation clothes, etc.
