U can bare nuckle but like 40% of strength max. Its good to know how your wrist is landing on every punch. So you can correct it. What is wrong is to use it for "harden" nuckles 😂

Great vid! Never seen a video where someone breaks down the reason behind each glove type and weight. I'm about 250 lbs, so I stick with 14 oz. I tried a pair of 10 oz, but the hand compartment was too small. Keep up the good work. I wish you much success!
@MyNigga3twoniggasE10 ай бұрын
hey man I’ve been fighting for a while now, and if you weigh that much, you should really get 18oz gloves or something bc I’m 6’2, 168lbs and I use 16oz and they work really good (it’s so you don’t hurt people sparring, more weight on gloves for your shoulders, etc) but even 20oz are good to make you faster 👍🏽
@NenskiTrill8 ай бұрын
The 10oz gloves should be professional fight gloves not training gloves. 10oz or 10XL depending on your hand size🙏🏿🥊

@kingc85318 ай бұрын
@@bouya5692Nope he's right. Most boxers today wrap their hands too much and don't condition their hands. If you practice bare knuckle often you'll strengthen the bones in your hand and it'll prevent injuries. I'm speaking from experience, well over a decade boxing without a hand injury and I'm a pretty heavy hitter. I took a break for a year and when I went back my wrists got weak until they were toughened up again from bare knuckle training.
@madmaxiemartialartsnerd4857 ай бұрын
@@kingc8531 It's a balancing act, their is really nothing wrong with bare knuckle practice. It does an amazing job in teaching you the correct form when your in an actual fight. The issue is when you got people wailing on bags full power on a bag that's hard as a brick due to being over filled. Just do what this guy does and just lightly paw at it and you will be fine
@nickbob20033 ай бұрын
@@kingc8531the wrist strengthening is legitimate and if you are just talking about toughening up the skin with callouses you have a point but from my understanding you actually don’t want to toughen up the actual knuckle bones themselves. From what I’ve heard it creates micro fractures that heal and become harder but more brittle so when they do break it is more catastrophic then if your bones were softer. This is just from the knowledge I have picked up and I do occasionally bare knuckle the bag because I see the merit of it but it definitely seems like there is a point where it’s detrimental

I used to have a smaller type bag hanging from my bedroom ceiling and when punching it as hard as i could, it would swing up halfway to the ceiling. I then joined a gym and would spend up to a hour and a half at a time, punching their much bigger professional type suspended bag from the ceiling. After a few weeks, on hitting my smaller bag at home, even when jabbing it, it would fly up and smash into the ceiling. The increase in my punching power was incredible because I'd been hitting a much heavier bag that I'd found to be uncomfortable to hit when I first started as it jarred my body with each punch. The calf muscle in my right leg also increased greatly in size.

Bare knuckle on bag? All those shots you throw put pressure on your wrist, metacarpals and led to long term injuries. I’ve seen young kids hitting walls, bags with bare hands, which I think it’s a bad thing to do. One important thing when you start doing doing boxing or at least for the sake of hitting the bag is to know how to wrap your hands correctly and understand how to do it in order to prevent any injuries.
