The saddest aspect of The Gossip is that it causes you the hearer to develop a character of the person. Not knowing if it’s the truth or not about that person. Lord help us all. Cause you ALL DO SPEAK or LISTEN negatively about another person in their ABSENCE.

All the gossip shows on TV could make people think it is OK especially if they don't know the word of God. But we will all be accountable for every idle word we speak. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Remember to take the plank out of your own eye first. until your shadow can heal people like Peters did, then none of us have arrived. All have sinned, ask the holy spirit for help, that is what I am doing in every area. I don't know about anyone else but, I need help. Can anyone relate?

Yes I have been struggling with this for years. I didn't realize how wrong it was until now. I often remember things people have done, and I get angry and sad. Then I start talking about them to make myself feel better. It never works. I just go around in the same circle.

There is an actual show called gossip girl and it's downplayed this sin of idle gossip amoungst church folk as they say they are only doing it in order to pray for people.

Seems like I was and still is a center of attention. People love chewing on me. Usually it's a low life people that don't want to work on themselves, but they switch people's attention to others and they are so low to where all they have in their heads it's "discuss people". And 99% of it is BS. It's use to kill me, until it start happening none stop for 3 month in a row. Last lie I have heard just last night, and finally: I Graduated! ( It made me laugh) I thank God for allowing this lesson to be learned and it made me stronger and wiser. The best thing you can do, when you hear lies about you "Give it into God's hands and let Him take care of it" . Because it's a possession, it's a spirit of Gossip, it's satan's weapon, and he uses those people as tools to kill your soul. And we can't fix those. They need to be freed and only God can help them. Stay away from them, and stop those that bring you this info. Cut it at it's roots! It works! Then, devil loses power over you, because you blocked off all the streams of Gossips.

This is where it can get hard because sometimes people need someone to trust to ask about a situation. If I'm not very confident in approaching someone..or I'm unsure of whether it's right or wrong because even within the church people can be one way around a pastor or leader and another way around others.. is it just me who's in need of addressing or this actually the other persons issues who are trying to put them onto me. Often if something is said.. there can be felt around the audible sigh of relief as others start to say oh it's not just me feeling this or that or having that experience.. The same can be at work or in any environment where there is more than one person. Some people grew up struggling to understand boundaries, came from broken homes, came from different cultural families, came from different classes of society and even certain towns often have a certain similar group of people that live within it. If we talk positively about people behind their back is that too classes as gossip? I understood gossip as taking a part truth and making up the rest or the spreading of lies or rumours.. such as have you heard that such n such has been sleeping around... Or I heard... But if someone is discussing how they felt within a situation so as to know how to deal with that.. I don't believe that is gossip. That kind of silencing is what causes those with genuine grievances to stay quiet, such as those being abused in any way and then can start to question themselves or feel they don't have a right to speak up or out. Having an opinion is not gossip. This is often why people within the church suffer. People sneaking around in churches needing to know everyone else's business... That's gossip mongering. The trash magazines that will write anything to make a dollar and their stories aren't factual... That's gossiping. Internalizing issues is not healthy. People who have fears about being caught out in something will often start gossip to discredit another person. Making untrue statements. Not only gossip but slander. Defamation of another person's name. Made even worse when it's not honestly addressed by those with the power to do so.

@@christinaescajeda9651 it does hurt. It hurts even more when it's lies. Because someone has an issue with another person and rather than talk about it they actually lie. Even more so though when your expected to apologise to the person who is lying ABOUT you. Personally if people don't like me that's their own right. They don't have to just like I don't have to like everyone I meet. It doesn't mean being rude. People can still be civil towards one another. However many like to take a snippet of conversation and turn it into something it never was. At one stage I had a lie about me written publicly. I asked to have it removed and unfriended that person. The issues didn't stop there though. I was unsure whether the person was someone else using a different name because the spelling was similar. I went to the person I thought it could have been and told them what I had thought and told someone else at the time.. and apologised if I was wrong. I rather they heard it from me than second hand from someone else. When people are playing mind games or causing constant dramas it creates a huge mistrust amongst everyone. People can be seriously hurt by it. I've done and said some shitty things throughout my life and while I'm not proud of everything.. I don't deny saying it. The other issue I have is when people take things out of context. Lack of understanding of what was actually said in the correct context. People lying about who they are online and playing seriously dangerous games to hurt others not just mentally and emotionally but spiritually and even physically is not acceptable. People who get too emotionally invested too quickly or have a desperation for acceptance is equally dangerous not just online but in real life. Truth is if people are lying online.. they are lying in real life and those people live within our societies. For some reason some people see the internet as their playground. Their fantasy land. Some people start to lose the ability to know fantasy from reality because they've been in fantasy so long. So to speak untruths becomes more and more natural or the mentality that there isn't actually a real person with real feelings on the other side of the conversation. This is what infuriates me personally with all the bots. For some people the internet is a chance to step out of their comfort zone and begin to meet and learn to talk with others. Overcoming social phobias or they may not be able to leave their house due to health reasons or immobility. So yes gossip can cause a lot of damage especially when people are purposefully targeting others to gain access or information and in reality with the family break downs in society it could cause some long term implications. @@christiecobb4637 yes, the only way they can cope with their esteem problems is tear others down. Sad but true. Females are the worst. Vicious and jealous. I used to work with an office full of them and they made me physically ill with all their gossip, backstabbing, lies, etc. I got migraine headaches from all the stress and would be incapacitated. God's wrath on people like that is not going to be pretty.
