Kiruko's origins are very harrowing and heartbreaking. A total shock to the system when I first viewed it, and it still hits during a second viewing. I love seeing Sam invested in the series. Can't wait for her to see more of the mystery as it's revealed.

There are sooooo many little details like the Fish Arms monster that I think you can ONLY catch after rewatching the show, this is def one of my favorite mystery anime. So many good lore drops and reveals and hints and stuff. For example, now that it is revealed that she's the younger brother, remember how she the Sis "didn't remember" exactly how old she was? She said 18 first, then was like "Oh or I guess i'm 20". I love listening to your theories at the end, I can't wait for more reactions to the showww. (Also *this is for the future* but, if yall have mods, it might be a good idea to have them check first, and delete all spoilers or "hints" that are just really badly hidden spoilers 🥰🙏)

At first I thought these man-eaters had similarities with being headless with a strange marking like TLOZ Twilit monsters, but then get a change-up seeing a man-eater that looks like that drawing of the fish with arms. Also shocked by the whole brain transplant thing. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

When I first saw this, I had a couple of theories: 1. With it stated that the two siblings were strangely close and attached to one another, the two gunshots were the sister putting her brother out of his misery, then, turning the gun on herself. 2. Going off of that, either the surgery did happen the way the story claims, or it could be just as the nurse claimed, and the sister isn’t all there after everything. Specifically, because they’re so close, her desire for her younger brother to live, plus the head trauma, she believes she’s her younger brother instead of herself. Sometimes, to get themselves through trauma and tragedy, people can adapt a whole other personality to get them through or over it - if they don’t make up a new one entirely instead.

About the hair colour change, they mentioned this later in an episode but its not a spoiler. Apparently, after major surgery, your hair colour can change. I don't think it's common but its know to be happen from time to time. My nurse friend said he knew of a patient recovering from cancer treatment and when her hair grew back, it also grew back reddish brown.

Pretty much the only problem with this show is that it ends where it does. People might be unsatisfied, because you won't get a lot of answers (Unless you read ahead in the Manga. There ARE answers, and its quite clever how it all comes together, but...the anime doesn't get that far 🥺) All you get is a few hints, and those just raise WAAAY more questions. And I don't know how likely this is to get a second season, given the source material doesn't have an ending yet, and Disney didn't bother letting anyone know it existed.
