Any movie he's in with Black dudes, he's always depicted as the most valuable and he tries to act hard and cool like Black Guys, which I don't like. The bartender having a clue on something is actually the most normal thing. People in neighbors go to neighborhood bars to talk and socialize. That's the best place to hear rumors. Especially when people get drunk they open up more and talk more. So the bartender in the neighborhood would hear more than anyone

i think a few intricate things made this movie hit different ..them bein a blended family adds a refreshing, timeless feel to this movie. each actor has personality & charisma to hold their own on screen, plus seein multiple races move as siblings is interesting for the viewers. it makes you imagine how it would be if you were raised wit other races in your household as sibling

Fun Facts: Mark Wahlberg improved his lines and it was mostly racist and homophobic moments like when he keep calling Jack a fairy even when he was dying. They were looking at Denzel Washington to play Victor Sweet and I can see that but Chiwetel Ejiofor did his thing. I don't think nobody notice but the movie implied before Evelyn adopt Jack was sexual abused. That's why he was shaking when he saw her at the dinner table and told him "you're safe now".

@Primm - You commented on Andre 3000 sounding country and wearing overalls. As a native of Detroit, born and raised, I went to high school with girl who had a country 'isk accent. Her parents were from the south, so she habitually pick it up maybe. Historical note: Detroit, Michigan was a new opportunistic designation for African Americans during the Great Migration, escaping Jim Crow oppression of the south. My grandparents were a part of this momentus event. Detroit was also a very important landmark route of The Underground Railroad, allowing many slaves to take refuge into Canada. Furthermore, Dre's fashion trademarked style might have been freely expressed through his depiction of the Jeremiah character. He's a hip hop icon in his own right, introducing OutKast's Atlanta-based lyricism and sound to the rap game. It is possible John Singleton allowed Dre's attire for that reason.
