Shes a great singer and songwriter, has critical acclaim and she's remembered, she's all about the arts not the fame and i think that's what people like about her, she's a genuine one, and down to earth

I love nelly she has to be one of the least problematic Females in music, what i love about her is that she's never seemed to chase hits she goes at her own pace, i mean loose was huge the singles were Global smashes yet she didn't really capitalise on its massive success and kinda stepped back! She's a great singer a great song writer and she's flawless she seriously looks like she did when she debuted! I'm like a bird, turn off the lights, man eater, Say it right & promiscuous girl are pop gems! Real Classics!

I received the Whoa Nelly cd when i was in 6th grade for Christmas and it's still one of my favorite albums decades later. 'The Party's Just Begun', 'Turn off the Lights', and 'I Will Make You Cry' are my songs!!!! 💖💕 I liked her later sound with Timberland, but it's nothing like the original music she has that made/makes me love her.

Fun Fact: Nelly had a cameo appearance in the music video "Rockstar" by fellow Canadians Nickelback. I remember when Nelly first came out in 2000. I never really listened to her music or any popular mainstream commercial music during those years because I was mainly into Smooth Jazz, Trance, Melodic Progressive, Classical. Basically, I didn't listen to music with lyrics except for music from the 80s on back. My sister was a big Nelly fan, so I heard 'I'm Like a Bird' on a few occasions and I thought it was kinda catchy but never actually listened to it. The same with 'Say It Right' when that came out... catchy but didn't really listen to that either. Fast forward to 2023. I would often think about how much modern day music sucks. It just blows my mind that people are nurtured to accept and listen to the non creative, no imagination garbage music that's currently being produced, AND IT ALL SOUNDS THE FREAKIN' SAME!!! Then I started thinking about some of the music artists that I'm familiar with that I thought were good but never listened to. One of the first artists that came to mind was Nelly. I hopped on KZbin and listened to, 'I'm Like a Bird'. I truly do mean actually listened to it, mainly the way the music was composed and produced. I ended-up buying two of her MP3 albums. Now here we are in 2024, 24 years later, and I'm bumpin' Nelly's music on a regular basis. One thing about good, quality older music... it never truly goes out of style and it's never too late to discover or rediscover it.
