Agree. Jon B really seems to be really genuine and humble and many artists seem too like working with him. Robin Thicke on the other hand seems to act like a douche and there are rumors going on that he's under investigation for sexual harassment after one of the models for the "Blurred Lines" video Emily Ratajkowski accused Robin of groping her and making lewd comments during the making of the video.

What happened to Jon B is what happened to Carl Thomas.. Donnell Jones.. Dave Hollister.. Etc... Music changed...r&b slowly started phasing out... Man do I miss the days of r&b... Love songs... Music is out of balance these days... Love Is missing... But I don't think his race played a factor because his cosigns were huge and his music still knocks... Put on "they don't know" right now and someone is gonna holler that's my sh*t! He still has a cookout invite... Always will.

I think the younger generation understand that love songs, Disney stories, romance novels/movie are pretty much fairytales. I often found it so disingenuous for these male rnb artists to be singing about love while dogging their spouses out. The type of love we see in movies and hear in songs doesn't really exist and most of us well NEVER experience.

@@jakemiles1427 that's fair... But cheating has always existed unfortunately... They were slicker with it back in the day with songs like, "me and Mrs Jones"... That song was about a dude cheating... In the 90s early 00s..there were songs about cheating.. But there were also songs about heartache.. About wanting love.. Needing it... Yes relationships are hard... People cheat... But don't let the world make u think people don't want.. Need.. Or believe in it. U have what u say... Love exist.. And we need it today.. Cheating ain't nothing new under the sun... Ya'll!! Please check out Jon B singing "Priceless" live on BET Her. First he's talking to the audience and if you love his singing voice, wait until you hear how he speaks! It's such a good performance.

Watching this I'm like... man I love Jon B. He's a genuinely down white guy who respects and honors Black culture and the Black music he sings. Every Black community has a few white folks that are just cool as hell and a part of the fabric. I wish the industry was better to him.

I’ve always love his music. I remember I started listening to him, when I was a teenager. He is a real talented singer songwriter. He’s always respect, appreciated the music and people. He stayed true to it. He is an authentic guy . Who gives people credit. That’s why he’s loved in the black community.

Beloved icon in R & B 😘 forever part of the culture. Comparing Jon B to Robin Thicke is like comparing champagne to sparkling wine.. Jon B is in his own lane.

How was his race a problem when bp made him go platinum, mentored him, went to his shows and produced for him?

Exactly. He came in on a genre that we created and subsequently dominated. His whole sound was that of bp.

@@Konglomerant exactly, we were more than enough accepting of him. When I see a blk artist get the same level of acceptance and assistance in country music , then I will be inclined to agree that jon b race was a problem
