I'm trying to figure out why if you have Neo Soul artists like Christion why you just wouldn't put them on tour with Toni Tony Toné or Maxwell or Joe or kenny Latimore or D'Angelo. They should've known to put them in that lane. I guess bcuz Neo Soul was so new they didn't know that that was the avenue to take. That's why as a R&B artist you really shouldn’t sign with a new "rap" label bcuz they have no real experience in the R&B lane and in their case the Neo Soul lane. I wish they could've signed with Hidden Beach or Kedar Massenburg or even Motown they would've blew up more
@jilardnas16154 жыл бұрын
That's bcz it wouldn't be much of a tour ,mixing gays with rap in the 80's &90's was against the law.Bringing us too so many down low men in the music industry today.Being gay now aint a bad thing nowdays but back then it would kill ya in the industry.

However, they needed a bigger venue. Many people, especially women, wanted them to succeed. They had natural talent and massive sex appeal. Maybe they posed a threat to Jay. White Artists drop album's ALL year around & the one's that flop you never hear them calling out the CEO's/Presidents of the Label by name (most people don't even care who it is) but a black artist on a black owned label, the CEO's whole family is blamed. That video basically made it seem like if you sign to Roc-A-Fella Records Jay - Z HAS to be either on your album or standing next to you & if you don't blow up it's his fault!🤷♂️🤔

What are talking about? Jay-Z jumped on one of their songs to try to promote them it didn't help. That song was good but it didn't help to sell their first album. Dame was supposedly the label head and he didn't promote them either but some how he doesn't get blamed for that. Also Christion moved to loud records where they didn't know how to promote them either. Loud eventually went bankrupt which affected all the they had signed to label
