Edgar Hansen (born 14 January 1971) is a TV personality and fisher. He is best known for the Discovery reality series, Deadliest Catch.
Edgar made his first television appearance during the ninth season in the show. As a crew member he was seen as relief skipper, chief engineer, cook & deck captain. Being the younger brother of famous Sig Hansen, Edgar got support to make his career in the fishing business. Since his debut, he appeared till the 14th season & got disappeared from the show.

Edgar Hansen is by far the best man in all this show, he was humble and was a really nice guy to all, a real man i wish this guy the best because he deserve this! He never had any trouble with someone and he was to all soooo nice this guy was really different than all he was and still be the best, his Brother Sig was never like him! He is still on boat; he just isn't being filmed. He does take out the boat and does salmon tendering. I pray for him and his family every day. 🙏 May he stay clean,,work hard at his recovery and his health continue to improve. Miss seeing him. If you look closely last year he would be operating the crane and it would pass by him. Also, sorting would get a glimpse as well.

Although I am not a fan of those who sexually assault or allegedly do it... I freaking loved Edgar.. he was a beast on the Northwestern. I'll never forget him making Jake eat a raw fish heart when he was a greenhorn. Edgar & Sig mentored Jake who is now a Captain of his own boat the Saga.. Egar always made the show interesting and he was versatile as deck boss.. engineer.. cooking 🍳 👩🏼‍🍳 I mean the guy could do it all. Those Hansen's are made of steel & tough as they come. Look at Sigs daughter for an example..She's Edgar's niece and is just as tough as her Father & uncle. Gotta respect the Hansen's 👍🏽

The best or the only reality show that was reality. It seems like the best shows never last, just because there's no team of writer's and foolish plot's and a show that makes you think and realize you could face death at any given time seems to be a little too real for the ratings. Edgar is still on the boat. Discover Channel decided after the charges where filed and he took the plea deal. They separated from him contractual. The story thats been going around the dock there in Dutch Harbor is that Discover agreed to continue filming with the crew on the North Western. And they would just edit Edgar out. This has been going on now for 2 seasons. And will likely never change. Because this decision came from the desk of Oprah Winfrey her self. Who BTW is a majority stock holder with rights to making decisions on the Discovery Channel and this show. So you aren't likely to see Edgar on anything that has to do with Discovery Channel any time soon. Unless you happen to be there in Dutch Harbor and by the man lunch.
