What happened to eggshells and plant ash in the vegetable garden

Eggshells and ashes after burning plants are seen everywhere in our daily lives. Once you start using plant ash and eggshells in the vegetable garden, you will see amazing results. Do you know how to use them to make your own vegetables grow better?
On the one hand, the strong combination of eggshell and plant ash is a good compound fertilizer.
Plant ash is a kind of farmyard fertilizer that is easy to obtain, completely free, complete in nutrients and obvious effects. Almost all the mineral elements contained in plants are contained in plant ash. Among them, potassium is the most content element, generally containing 6-12% potassium; followed by phosphorus, containing 1.5-3%; there are also trace elements such as calcium, magnesium, silicon, sulfur and iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron, and molybdenum. .
Plant ash is rich in water-soluble potassium. Potassium can promote nitrogen metabolism, carbohydrate synthesis and transportation in the plant body, allowing plants to grow robustly, and enhance the ability to resist pests and natural disasters;
Egg shells contain a lot of calcium. Calcium can promote the development of root system, and it is also very helpful for flowering and fruiting. In addition to the abundant calcium carbonate, there are phosphorus, magnesium and some other trace elements in the eggshell, including sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, iron and copper.
As fertilizer, there are many ways to use plant ash and eggshell powder:
One, make base fertilizer. When transplanting seedlings, use plant ash combined with organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, or prepare nutrient soil mixed with about 5% of plant ash, which can increase the effective nutrients of base fertilizer and nutrient soil, promote root growth and increase seedling adaptability; when transplanting vegetable seedlings, Usually sprinkle some eggshell powder in the ground, or mix 3-5% eggshell powder in the soil of the planting container, which can effectively improve the disease resistance of plant seedlings. It can also avoid root rot caused by calcium deficiency, so that the seedlings can pass the fragile period smoothly and grow better. The soil added with plant ash and eggshell powder not only has rich nutrients, but also increases water permeability, is loose and air-permeable, and will not be compacted, which is conducive to the growth of microorganisms in the soil, so that vegetables can grow vigorously.
Second, do top dressing. Vegetables like peppers, eggplants, leeks, sweet potato tips, spinach and other vegetables can be sprinkled on the surface of the soil during the growth process, and then watered to release the potassium element in the plant ash, which will quickly increase the nutrition of the vegetables; and the plant ash is incompatible Nutrients can also be slowly absorbed to increase vegetable nutrition. Don't worry that some plant ash powder will fall on the leaves, because when plant ash is sprinkled, potassium will be dissolved in the water when it is watered immediately, and it will enter the soil along with the water, or be directly absorbed into the plant. More than 90% of the potassium in plant ash is water-soluble and exists in the form of carbonate. I add some plant ash to the tomatoes and water them with a small amount of water to make the tomatoes grow better. Spinach likes plant ash very much, sprinkle some to prevent insects and diseases. After the eggshell powder penetrates into the soil, it slowly degrades under the action of microorganisms, releasing elements such as phosphorus and calcium, which are absorbed by the root system for plant growth. Plant ash and eggshell powder can be used alone or mixed together for top dressing.
Third, make foliar fertilizer. Before and after flowering, spraying the plant ash extract on the leaves can improve the vitality of the leaves, enhance photosynthesis, prevent leaf fall during the growth period, and improve the quality of fruits and vegetables. In addition to potassium and calcium and other macronutrient elements, plant ash also contains many trace elements such as iron and magnesium. It has strong quick-acting effect and is a high-quality foliar fertilizer. You can use 1 part of fresh plant ash and 10 parts of water, stir well, the next day, carefully filter, remove the residue inside, you can spray the leaves.
If you encounter calcium deficiency in plants, such as the edge of Chinese cabbage leaves beginning to rot and become dry, or tomatoes are short and thin, the vegetables are deficient in calcium. Calcium needs to be supplemented in time. Eggshell powder is a good source
