Yikes. Hope you heal quick! Thanks for giving us an update and a walk around on all the new stuff! :) With watching you and building a system like yours for indoors. It saves me about $300 a month on my grocery bill!! Can't wait to expand out to a greenhouse maybe next year! Take care! :)

Love the two of you playing off of one another in this video : ). Glad you are healing up Chuck! I haven’t watched all of the videos yet, but I have enjoyed all of them!! Thank you for sharing the journey! I really want to learn more bc I think I have a barn I could use for microgreens.

Seems like an eternity ago that I made that video but it has only been about a year or so. I am in the process of building a 20x96 greenhouse for greens and herbs that will also have a place for microgreens. I bought the propagation trays about a week or so ago. You have my email address if you need any help? Chuck

Accidents happen so quickly and sudden. Glad to see you up and around after all that. Could have been a ton worse. Pain is never a good thing. Would like to see a video on the farmers market from setup to pack out. I work alone most of the time on my farm and am always trying to be aware of the risks. All your work is awesome. As they used to say on Hill Street Blues" Lets be careful out there".

I got the black seeded Simpson and Summer Bibb. Neither head up like yours. The vine out, crazy. I just started some for fall. What do you think?
@FensterfarmGreenhouse6 жыл бұрын
Bruce Brandt could be a combination of pH and fertilizer concentration or just the summer heat. I cool my greenhouse with an evaporative water wall. Keeps the greenhouse about 15-20 degrees cooler in there than it would be without it. Chuck

Good to see you guys back. Things are all looking good. Take it easy with that arm though - you don't want to re-tear it. I feel your pain - had it on my right arm in 2016 and had to garden all summer with one wing. I used the brace to remind me not to pick up something too heavy. It'll come back for you though, just don't overdo it. I do love the netting from Memphis Net for beans and cucumbers. You can reuse it. I have some that has been used outdoors for 4 years. just pull up the beans and pull them off the netting when they dry up. Keep up the great work and I'm sure the catering will add to the crowd you guys have at the Farmers market.

Glad you're OK, Chuck. I've always told how I marvel at the amount of work you do by yourself. One suggestion now: HIRE SOME HELP!! Some Southern Stuff you are so right Karl, I have a caretaker on the property now and he works with me on a lot of things but I should have been able to do that by myself. This past weekend I built and NFT system similar to yours using downspout from Lowes just very small to run inside under shop-lights. I noticed when I did the testing that the water wasn't coming down thru the middle in all of the pipes. What do you think my problem could be, flow rate, level or something else.
@FensterfarmGreenhouse6 жыл бұрын
Domenico Giammona flow rate is correct. I get about 1 liter a minute from each feed tube. Try increasing for LPM rate until you get your desired flow in the trough. Chuck

Thanks! I tried three different kinds over the summer, all 3 bolted almost right from the seed, and all were supposed to be heat tolerant. I have a 40% sun shade and fans running but no water cooler like yours. I'm thinking of running a pipe into the ground from the Cistern before it goes into the NFT table to help drop the water temp washing over the roots to keep them cooler.
@FensterfarmGreenhouse6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Willett I’ll be adding a chiller to the system next year. Made from an old dairy farm. I’m interested in cooling the water so let me know how it works for you. I have aeration in my reservoir that dropped the temp about 5 degrees already but I’d love to keep it at about 75 if possible. Let me know how your idea works! Chuck
