The creators revealed years ago that Corey does know about Laney being a girl. He just calls her a guy so she doesn't feel left out of the group.

THTS SO SWEET
@hungtheheroluu Жыл бұрын
Obviously, Corey knows Laney's gender. He wants to help make her feel equal in a mostly male-dominated rock band, even though he could have been more respectful to her, even if she's a tomboy who has a crush on him that he's clueless to.
@gauntlettcf5669 Жыл бұрын
@@hungtheheroluu I agree. Every time (I think) they need a girl in the episodes he always mentions her first, showing he does know she is a girl. I always felt as if he knew Laney was a girl and still joked about her being a guy (probably to make her feel as part of the group in everything, since the other members are males), and she was the one who didn't understand he was joking because with him being her crush, she cared way too much about what he said on the topic.
@tarotsushima33322 жыл бұрын
I thought the joke with Corey's speech segments is the fact that he clearly has the skill to make up moving or profound sounding sentences that are good enough to be lyrics and he doesn't really need Trina's diary alone to be a good songwriter(a point also made with the aliens episode) but he dismisses it every time Laney says his speech could have been used for lyrics.

For a show that's so focused on comedy first, it actually had some crazy potential for depths in other areas. According to the creator, Corey and Katrina were adopted by their single father, who never appeared in the show. I thought the show was called Garage Band so I typed that in and found nothing animated. But then I scrolled and found Garage Band Cartoon Network. I was able to find the show and rewatched the first episode. Time skip to a few months later, I wrote down the lyrics to every song (by memory) and was letting other people know the show existed. And I can still resight all of the songs even though my sister made me throw away my book with the songs inside (totally relate to Cory on that front) TL;DR I love this show so much, it was my favourite but now it's my 2nd favourite (behind Total Drama) but it deserves more love.

Growing up in a small town that had a really thriving indie rock music scene. Plus, knowing several people who either where in bands or would later on in a few years become musicians. I felt they where hitting on a interesting demographic. Especially how lots of schools, mine included had gotten rid of their School Band classes. I was really impressed with the quality of the songs. Plus, being designed as a classic garage rock band, it was cool to see the writers of the show explore other music genres.

GrojBand actually was quite popular in Australia, and ran on our programming for many years, I think it was the same for New Zealand and Canada, but the airing on cartoon network and where it was placed, kinda ruined it as it wasn't very popular in the us because of a bunch of these reasons. I love Grojband! The music in my opinion was amazing! I also used to have a huge crush on Corey! Seriously underrated!

I remember loving that show as a kid I even remember Corey being my first kin I walked up to school telling people to call me Corey; i remember i wanted to dye my hair blue and start a band I didnt accomplished what i wanted (the head master had to pull me to explain how changing your name works; my mom bought me party hair dye, which sucked balls; and i had -10 experience with music) Still, it was nice to revisit the show recently

28:46 1) This is a Canadian cartoon. 2) Shrinking down into people's body came from the movie Fantastic Voyage 3) It happens in anime too.

i love this show! They were actually planning for a season 3 and sort of focus on Laney & Corey's relationship. Idk why they stoped this show. I actually though they would do season 3 when i was gone watching other shows but i guess i was wrong.

Thank you for covering hidden gems like this show. I miss how ridiculous it was and I loved it.

there are so many reasons why people think the characters are demigods: Corey and Trina have unnatural hair colors (blue and pink respectively) how Trina goes into "diary mode" with stuff shooting out of her pen as she's writing and the music and background colors to match it Laney bursts into flames whenever she gets angry
