The creators revealed years ago that Corey does know about Laney being a girl. He just calls her a guy so she doesn't feel left out of the group.

Obviously, Corey knows Laney's gender. He wants to help make her feel equal in a mostly male-dominated rock band, even though he could have been more respectful to her, even if she's a tomboy who has a crush on him that he's clueless to.
@gauntlettcf5669
@gauntlettcf5669 Жыл бұрын
@@hungtheheroluu I agree. Every time (I think) they need a girl in the episodes he always mentions her first, showing he does know she is a girl. I always felt as if he knew Laney was a girl and still joked about her being a guy (probably to make her feel as part of the group in everything, since the other members are males), and she was the one who didn't understand he was joking because with him being her crush, she cared way too much about what he said on the topic.
@tarotsushima3332
@tarotsushima3332 2 жыл бұрын
I thought the joke with Corey's speech segments is the fact that he clearly has the skill to make up moving or profound sounding sentences that are good enough to be lyrics and he doesn't really need Trina's diary alone to be a good songwriter(a point also made with the aliens episode) but he dismisses it every time Laney says his speech could have been used for lyrics.

For a show that's so focused on comedy first, it actually had some crazy potential for depths in other areas. According to the creator, Corey and Katrina were adopted by their single father, who never appeared in the show. That sounded so interesting, and I'm bummed that we never got to see them with their Dad.

This show is so underrated and was my childhood, and it still holds strong in my memory since I rediscovered it a couple of weeks ago. So much of this show (which is 10 years old BTW) is left unexplored, such as when and how did Grojband form, will Corey and his sister Trina learn to get along, and are Laney and Corey going to be an official couple. One can only hope for a crazy plan that just might work to bring it back.

While Corey does read his sister's diary to find inspiration to write lyrics for his songs, he doesn't actually copy down and sing what Trina wrote word-for-word. I remember only watching like 3 episodes of Grojband when I was 7 (the queen bee episode, the lady rage episode and the jam episode) Then one day, when my sister was talking about how she wanted to rewatch Lemonade Mouth (I was 13 at the time) I also remembered a show about an indie rock band, only the one I was thinking about was animated. I thought the show was called Garage Band so I typed that in and found nothing animated. But then I scrolled and found Garage Band Cartoon Network. I was able to find the show and rewatched the first episode. Time skip to a few months later, I wrote down the lyrics to every song (by memory) and was letting other people know the show existed. And I can still resight all of the songs even though my sister made me throw away my book with the songs inside (totally relate to Cory on that front) TL;DR I love this show so much, it was my favourite but now it's my 2nd favourite (behind Total Drama) but it deserves more love.

I watched Grojband while it aired, as an adult fresh out of high school. I thought the show was a really creative idea to show music to younger kids. Growing up in a small town that had a really thriving indie rock music scene. Plus, knowing several people who either where in bands or would later on in a few years become musicians. I felt they where hitting on a interesting demographic. Especially how lots of schools, mine included had gotten rid of their School Band classes. I was really impressed with the quality of the songs. Plus, being designed as a classic garage rock band, it was cool to see the writers of the show explore other music genres.

Fun fact: In 2013, the creators responded to a question on Tumblr about if the band really thought Laney was a boy. They confirmed that no, they know she’s a girl, but do see her as ‘one of the boys’

First of all please have Isabella in more episodes you two work so well together Second I just noticed your hair colors bounce off each other so well Negative being blonde and Isabella being Redhead Third this show was really great, I m from Zambia so I never knew how these shows were rated in the U.S. The networks just show us what they can get the rights to so it kinda fun. For me personally I would watch what I liked and I loved this show.

This show deserves a third season or a reboot. Too bad CN or Boomerang doesn't see it that way.

I found out about Grojband when I was on Tumblr (I lived on the Total Drama tag) and I really wanted to get into it, but someone I really hated was a big fan of the show, so I ended up dropping it all together

GrojBand actually was quite popular in Australia, and ran on our programming for many years, I think it was the same for New Zealand and Canada, but the airing on cartoon network and where it was placed, kinda ruined it as it wasn't very popular in the us because of a bunch of these reasons. Also fun fact, if a second season did air, they planned to make it so that Corey, realised his feeling for Laney and Laney had moved on, switching the roles entirely.

In my country this show played at night, so most people never caught it since there are better shows happening at night. But I really liked the show. Also it's crazy that you did a video on this since I've been thinking about this show again lately

I remember loving that show as a kid I even remember Corey being my first kin I walked up to school telling people to call me Corey; i remember i wanted to dye my hair blue and start a band I didnt accomplished what i wanted (the head master had to pull me to explain how changing your name works; my mom bought me party hair dye, which sucked balls; and i had -10 experience with music) Still, it was nice to revisit the show recently

i love this show! They were actually planning for a season 3 and sort of focus on Laney & Corey's relationship. Idk why they stoped this show. I actually though they would do season 3 when i was gone watching other shows but i guess i was wrong.

there are so many reasons why people think the characters are demigods: Corey and Trina have unnatural hair colors (blue and pink respectively) how Trina goes into "diary mode" with stuff shooting out of her pen as she's writing and the music and background colors to match it Laney bursts into flames whenever she gets angry
