In the late 90’s, a couple of years after Biggie's death, guerilla black released his first mixtape appropriately titled notorious black, a project that didn’t perform very well, creating a lot of doubt in the mind of the upcoming rapper.

If he came out today as a new artist, I believe he'd have more success. His social media presence would show who he is & separate him from Big. Today's youngins aren't as invested in Biggie as the previous generation. But he's a lyricist so Idk 🤷🏿‍♀️

Just like if Shyne was out of jail and returned to the rap game TODAY. Shyne was a bigger star than Black but both would have been huge if they were making music today.
@KadeemG61
@KadeemG61 3 жыл бұрын
@@kenterminateddq5311 Shyne was another case of what could’ve been if he stayed with Bad Boy. The guy was very talented until gun charges and sentenced to prison for a couple of years derailed his rap career and changed his name (which is a bit Indian). Bad Boy at the time starting to go downhill in the early 2000s because Diddy signed new artists that nobody heard of. Bad Boy was not the same after Biggie was murdered and Mase left the company because the pressure for him was too much due to contract issues and mismanagement over at the label. Goes to show you why when a new artist release an album, it is a big hit. But throwing money around and releasing a second album meaning it’s not gonna sell that well and critics are going to be skeptical about your music choices.

The game is from Compton had a buzz guerilla black (2004-2005) had a buzz instead of working together and uplifting the west and their hometown they decide to beef and one career was eclipsed in the process (multiple reasons) beef is pointless. They don't need unions but better lawyers and financial planners. A lot of these rappers are like athletes who get rich young but don't plan for the future. Either they need better financial planners or record labels should or record labels put half of their money in a trust like Allen Iverson. AI went bankrupt but at age 50 he has a 50 million check coming in from Reebok.
