Time to binge on chocolate while trying to find a new anime to bide the time of SAO's October release cour 3. Have you ever heard of Danmachi (is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon?)? It's an interesting action series that has a unique feel of adventure and questing as well as a few laughs and serious moments. Think of it as a light side of SAO... Plus you will hear a familiar VA for some characters but due to spoilers, etc, you will enjoy this (optional)!

The first episode for the WOU Arc is currently out and watching these two back to back is just painful. Kirito has legit felt trauma and pain in the entirety of the SAO series, when Kirito saw Eugeo start bleeding out it, thats when Kirito truly felt completely worthless and hopeless, he couldn’t save the one person who had stuck by his side through everything, he wasn’t there in time when Eugeo disrupted the Taboo Index, he wasn’t there to stop him from getting manipulated, and now he couldn’t save him from Quinella’s attack. He felt so incredibly guilty that he genuinely forgot that he had people outside of this world that was waiting for him to return and at that moment he wanted to die more then anything. Afterwards, he couldn’t heal Eugeo, and his friend literally died in his arms. Of course he’s gonna have some twisted thoughts, he’s frustrated, confused, guilty, and depressed, no wonder the system caused him to fall into a coma like state after all that. Give Kirito a break guys...

Ngl so much of his symptoms after he was abruptly disconnected from the virtual comm after the massive power surge and then he's all like that, these symptoms resembled stroke. Lots of these symptoms like impaired hearing, vision, speech and unable to walk and sluggish arm movements and also a gapping hole in his Fluctlight (virtual brain) really all resembled stroke. My mom had stroke but she was lucky it was on her non-dominant side of her brain so she have retained speech and vision but her left is all paralyzed. Those people who caught stroke on the dominant side of the brain are unlucky, you'll see them just like how the "vegetable" Kirito symptoms are. If Kirito hasn't lost his right arm, that right arm would still be motionless. The fact he can't walk because his right leg is paralyzed too.

You know, so she'll have better range if it comes down to physical combat again.

Real, simple reason: Because then she wouldn't be a cute sage. Elaborate reasoning based on further, personal interpretation of circumstances: What happens if she makes herself an adult? That still leaves her at a 50-50 gamble on who makes a mistake first. Her plan was on winning, not making a gamble for a possible win. That's why she remained in the library, made various plans to get back at Quinella and also recruited Kirito and Co. If it wasn't for the Sword Golem, it was a surefire way to win.

Lets just put this into perspective for just a moment, He's been through a lot, He isolated himself by realizing he was adopted and felt like not belonging (not the best start). He gets trapped in a death game while he's still a minor and had to survive in a virtual world filled with strangers, and the people he was close with got killed right infront of them (One guy commited suicide right infront of him and blamed him with UNDENIABLE fact and reason behind it), had to deal with almost dying on multiple occasions while protecting others. Witnessed betrayal, his adopted daughter disappearing and girlfriend getting killed infront of him (Even though asuna turned out fine, he still broke down from the stress afterwords). Had to get Asuna back from the rapist god Oberon, Witnessed him defile Asuna (infront of him again). Almost died in real life from Sugo (Oberon IRL). Was contracted to stop a serial murder case with some PTSD laced in there while helping a girl who also had PTSD and again narrowly escaped death IRL (Thank the Electrobe). Almost died AGAIN in real life from a shooter. (Some please tell who it was that did it) and had to escape from another virtual world where death is for real while remembering more tramatic moments. Also seeing his closest friend die (INFRONT OF HIM AGAIN). TLDR: Give this man some FREE therapy and a hug.

So basically, due to the accumulated depression of everything that has happened thus far, including the death and loss of Eugeo (which I am SO happy that Lycoris is giving us a chance to save him!), who was both his best friend and pretty much "male Asuna" (excuse my poor choice of words, I couldn't think of anything better. Plus, they do seem to have a very, very intimate relationship that is nearly equivalent to Asuna and Kirito's) Kirito finally "snaps" as he blames himself for everything because of his guilt and wished that he didn't exist anymore and that's what caused his Fluctlight to "falter"? I'm also counting the surge amplified Incarnation being involved for what happened to his Fluctlight. Also, I'm glad to have been a subscriber to your channel for so long now, since I've been seeing, watching and viewing every video of yours since Hollow Realization and I just wanted to say that honestly, I'm a pretty big shipper of Yujikiri as well as Itsuki x Protaginst from Fatal Bullet (Which I mainly just call the MC "Aluche" as that was the name I chose and his RL name being Yuuta Tendou.) Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. I can't wait to see the second half of War of Underworld and see the others join in the battle and hopefully see the anime adaptation for Unital Ring one day. As much as I enjoy SAO, I notice that the author tends to abuse Kirito quite a bit. The running gag about him being abused by girl until he wins them over by being such nice guy, I can get. I have a question. When Kirito used the system console to slowdown the fluctlight speed from 1000x to normal time did that affect the machines running underworld at all? Like would it over complicate the hardware running it or anything more serious?

It doesn't affect much. Early in Alicization, it is mentioned that it is a complicated process and can cause desyncs etc, but in this case, nothing wrong happened on the system side of things.

This helped me understand what happened to Kirito a bit more. I’ve read the whole Alicization light novel series however I still find it difficult to understand. Perhaps when the adaptation comes out I’ll understand it a lot better

Personally speaking, it is not one of those explanations that I personally like. Higa basically explains "We dont know much about the human brain so I can't speculate much, but I believe this is what happened". The explanation itself is quite vague on its own, no matter how much I tried to ground things as much as possible. The cleanest explanation possible was the bit I mentioned things from Kirito's side, before I went with Higa's technical explanation. "Kirito wanted to cease to exist after all that guilt, with the surge amplified Incarnation, the system made that happen on his Fluctlight."

Question regarding the gameverse: Considering the connection among the games, what do you think are the chances of Itsuki, Lievre and other FB chars (perhaps even the protagonist) showing up in Lycoris?

It looks like the cast for Lycoris will be a bit small. I don't think that the GGO characters will appear. Maybe as DLC, but ideally it wouldn't make any sense at all. Yet again the Gameverse is indeed messed up.

I honestly do not want to comment on that question in a definitive manner before we get more information. The only major statement was that the game would follow the main canon events more closely than ever before, but the trailer itself showed many changes from the main canon as is. A fluctlight manipulation using system commands probably won't be able to fix his state in that case. However, it's a different story for the people at RATH, if they can somehow gain control over the STL he's diving in.
