As someone who loved Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and played their first album constantly, this was a wonderful look behind the scenes. I am very impressed at how well done this video was and how many details it revealed that I had never known. On a personal note, when I enlisted in the Navy, I had finished basic training and we had just completed a month of additional training (I think it was called A School, but it's been a long time ago). At the end, all of us (and I'm thinking there were at least a hundred of us, although again, it was a long time ago) were waiting in this large community room in Great Lakes to receive our initial orders. It was raining outside, and everyone was nervous and excited and anxious to find out where they'd be going. I started singing "All alone on a Sunday morning" more as a joke than anything because of the gloomy rain, but almost immediately people started joining in and by the end of the first verse, most of us were singing at the top of our lungs. I may be hazy on the exact details, but I still remember that moment very clearly; it again reminded me how powerful music can be. Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam with Full Force was a major part of my life in the mid-'80s, and they were a huge part of so many people's lives. Thank you so much for this video. It really was extremely well done!!

OMG yes, Lisa Lisa was smokin' hot back in the day, I loved her! A very talented singer, she didn't need Cult Jam though, everyone knew it was Full Force doing all the music and songwriting. If the record company from the beginning told Cult Jam to kick rocks, Lisa would've been in Mariah's position! That was a huge loss for her unfortunately....but she did leave us with some classics! I used to roller skate to her all the time.....

What happened to Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam ? Ahhh..Nothing Happened to them. They just lived thru there era of time. During the mid to late 80s that Pop / Electro sound was at it's peak with groups such as "TKA", "Planet Patrol", "Johnny Kemp", "Midnight Star", "Sheila E ","Vanity", "Mary Jane Girls" & many other great. Not to mention, Hip Hop was also reigning supreme during the time of Lisa & cult Jam success. Then the 90s hit.... Although Hip Hop kept sprinting forward in a fan favorite 50 yard dash, Electro Pop was being left behind. Out ran by Rap, Garage Grunge, Heavy Metal & House Music. If felt like it wasn't cool anymore to listen to Electro Pop unless it's mixed with the genres I've mentioned. With the 90s now here , Lisa Lisa had to play the rear to new upcoming Songstress divas like "Whitney Houston", "Mariah Carey", "Janet Jackson", " Madonna" & "Cher". I truly believe Lisa is a remarkable singer not just for the Puerto Rican community but for every community...... R🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Interesting... Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. I actually like a lot of they music. My big cousins had they records, posters, etcetera. They defined the young generation of the '80s. Unfortunately, I came around when they were about to be phased out. 1991's _Let the Beat Hit 'Em_ was my jam when I was little. I have good memories behind that cut. I never bothered to listen to they full LPs, but like most consumers, I know and love the hit singles. Nah, vocally...well... I'll say that she was inoffensive.
