This situation is not so simple, because they also have contract in the US and I don't think that the American team wants him to go. Love him or hate him, even Eshy has been showing support. Also with such a huge overseas fanbase, I don't think Starship can ignore global fans. The boys themselves are doing subtle things to make sure we know that they haven't forgotten about Wonho. It's time Korean agencies realised that idols are impprtant to international fans and if they want to export Kpop outside of Asia, our opinions matter.

sad panda I’m pretty sure there is more info we don’t know about it , I mean Wonho leaves MONSTA X in first place maybe that’s best for him right now . It’s really hard to watch their performance without Wonho but He gave up so easily that’s make think they are probably hidding something because they could just send him to military service , I really hope is not the reason and I have been looking everyday for news of Him coming back , but for now I just want to Wonho be healthy ,safe and not struggling financially , don’t really care if he is in Monsta x anymore because I don’t want to be selfish I’m not Korean so I don’t understand why what he did 7 years ago it’s son important but their society it’s very different .

Kiwi Cave : I don’t understand what has happened and why this girl , who is a convicted felon , should be able to tear Monsta X part. In Korea, image is a big deal. Starship and Wonho did not want this situation to hinder the group. Even if something happened a long time ago they still find the image of an idol to be of great importance. Even if the fans say they’re okie with his past or that what happened in the pas doesn’t matter, is the agency’s call. From what I’ve gathered Wonho left on his own accord, but again because he didn’t want Monsta X’s image to be bad.

@@megzlibrary The way idols in Korea are treated is an issue itself. They expect them to be perfect, there is no such thing as perfect especially in humans. They need to understand that idols are human, humans make mistakes. They passed judgment on Wonho because of a few statements by two girls, without any proof. One of the girls is a criminal and known for doing & saying things to end or attempt to end idol's careers. They don't wait to get the full story, they hold things against the idols that happened years ago, mostly in the idols youth before they became idols.They don't care how much a person has grown or changed since the incidents supposedly happened. They just quickly go for the throat. I understand holding idols to a higher standard but they go too far. They expect these idols to live a perfect innocent chaste life. If you look at the original idols, the deities everyone worshipped in the past, they were far from perfect and they were powerful immortals. So how does anyone expect mere humans to live up to their perfect expectations. Wonho deserves better, B.I. deserved better and that kid from Produce 101 deserved better.

I hope that this resistance from everyone can show them that but sadly I feel like the KPop industry will always think that way.

I hope wonho does comeback but imagine how scary it must be for him if he does return. A person accused him of things that may make others view him differently. Imagine the fear he would feel and how hard he would push himself to be perfect and to avoid saying or doing anything that will make someone accuse him of something. I want him to return but I want his mental health to get stable first and so he won't be afraid to face the public.

Michelle Rueca I don’t think it’s planned on starships side. I think some people wanted to harm Monsta X since they’re getting more and more attention and this whole chain of scandals was timed to be published directly at their comeback. I don’t think that starship would go to such an extend just to get recognition and for Wonho to leave the group. Since it’s a very negative recognition. But I do think that they handling the situation behind the scenes because of legal reasons .. I still have a small hope that he returns when they can prove his innocence and the whole scandal cooled down .. His name is still on their website and he is still on the fancafe .. maybe they didn’t give up on him? We can just wait and hope for the best

I think the biggest issue is the lack of knowledge to the public. We know he's "gone" per se, but there has yet to be any substantial evidence provided by either party to the public that can either convict or acquit him. I definitely believe there has to be some truth to the rumors, or Starship wouldn't have been so willing to let him go. Furthermore, Jung Da Eun and Han Seo Hee really haven't dropped any more receipts on him, and I would think they would be willing to do so considering how hard they went in on him. So that begs the question: have they settled, and if not why are they now not laying into him more (besides the obvious little quips they make on their social media)? We know that in the drug situation if there was progress, the police would definitely be making a statement to the public, but we haven't heard anything from them either. Add to that the fact that Dispatch has dirt on EVERYONE, and clearly had some sort of map of info about Wonho through Jung Da Eun, but they have also been surprisingly silent on the issue. People also bring up the legitimate point that he's not been removed from their fancafe or from the site (which would be separate from the deals with companies in the West), and with no official statement up other than that alleged quote from a representative, it makes people think he's still with the company. So, perhaps they made a premature statement before realizing that dropping literally their MOST marketable member was not going to be so simple. They obviously are all loved and all do well, but it was clear that Wonho was the one helping to bring in the bacon, at least from the standpoint of international fans as I cannot speak for the Korean ones. In past situations, whether it was through scandal or purely by their personal choice, there were VERY specific moves made when idols terminated a contract. Removing their images, an official statement posted everywhere, removal of merch, and in some cases even an official statement from the idol themselves saying they are leaving the entertainment industry. One would think, given what Wonho implies in his letter, that he would have made such a statement, followed by a public announcement of working to right the wrongs he's done (if in fact he is guilty of all those crimes). But none of that has happened, which is SO DIFFERENT in this industry and in this type of situation. Something else is going on here, and people honestly deserve some more concrete answers than what they've been given, good or bad.

I agree and I think the reason that starship has NOT denied the termination statements posted by never and allkpop etc is because they probably want the situation to calm down more and let monsta x finish their promotions before releasing any further statements about this matter because at this point anything starship says is gonna effect one side or the other. If they release an official statement saying he is STILL IN STARSHIP then the some of the public might be pissed or HSH followers might be pissed coz they are so into the "Cancel culture" that they ignore what is right and wrong. And if they release a statement that HE HAS LEFT STARSHIP the fans are gonna be mad and hence it will affect the monsta x promotions so.........

Everyday I wake up, the first thing I do is check if Wonho is back. I've been watching some of the videos I took when I saw them in ATL this past July. They were the first kpop group I ever saw live. It meant the world to me that my first kpop concert was my ultimate favorite group. I miss Wonho and OT7. 😭❤

I've posted on several "Save Wonho" videos, but I'll say again here that removing Wonho was a garbage move. Starship knew that Wonho had a past when he was a trainee. He also busted his ass, worked sick, injured, and exhausted to prove he was worth the love and respect that Monbebes and the world have given him. Hell, I'll say this: not ONE member of this group was "given" anything, they all work (and continue to work) harder than humanly possible to make us proud of them. I cry seeing videos w/ and w/o Wonho because of all this. I'll never STOP supporting him or Monsta X, but I rank Starship now with JYP as garbage companies. Starship, you make your money off the blood, sweat and tears of Monsta X and others, YOU owe THEM support, not the other way around. Bring Wonho back into the fold, even if you have to negotiate a new contract with him, and prosecute that lying scum like you said you would. The world is watching. Do you really want the world to see Korean pop companies and other businesses as evil, manipulative, slavery-like, cold-blooded and heartless? Even other idols are posing their support for Wonho, you above all, should crawl across broken glass and beg him back.

In 2020, monsta x recovered and released 2 albums that gave them so much success. Finally won a daesung for ‘fatal love’. Unfortunately, wonho was not able to join the group again. Everything came back as wonho being innocent, it was wonho who decided to terminate his contract. He didn’t want monsta x’s image to tainted with everything that happened. In 2020, wonho debuted as a solo artist. Monsta x and wonho are successful today, even tho they parted their ways.

The news that Wonho left the group absolutely shattered me. More than I thought it would and it made me realise how much of a Monbebe I was. We all absolutely adore Wonho and fans who have followed the group for a while know that he had a troubled past. It made us root for us more because he was determined to overcome them to become a better person. It’s ridiculous how just on baseless rumours, someone’s hard earned career is left hanging by a thread. I’m glad that so many people have been rallying their support for Wonho, Shownu and the others. They really need all this positive energy and love. The fact that fans raised $20 K in an hour was incredible. I want to also add, that I saw an article where fans were called “obsessed” for doing so. They totally don’t get the point why fans were doing this. We’re sick and tired of entertainment companies treating their artists as commodities and milk cows, and discarded after the slightest sign of being human. All K Pop artists deserve better. Sorry for the long winded rant, but I just needed to get this off my chest. I’m still upset and angry on their behalf. Keep on showing your love and support for Monsta X, Monbebe! 💕

As someone who became a monbebe just before wonho left I can say that this was the most disgusting thing I've seen happen to a kpop group. They destroyed monstax when they were starting to get popular because they saw them as a threat to other groups that name so won't say. After that the Fandom just left and they still have fans but not as much as before. Monstax was never served justice

I hope Wonho comes back, and Starship already confirmed that he did not owe money to that girl and her girlfriend. He left "apparently" because the girl Hahn was bringing up his past were he apparently spent time in Juvenile hall, which he admitted to changing his life and going in the right path and that's the point of juvenile hall is to pay for mistakes made and reform. He's a sensitive guy so hopefully he can and will come back.

I feel like a lot of “scandals” I’ve noticed a lot of KPop idols getting into aren’t really that bad. You didn’t pay someone back? You’re seeing someone who’s already in a relationship? You made an assistant cry? There are many worse things. Are those things you should be proud of? Of course not. But still, I’d consider that behavior scummy at most. We have chart topping artists over here who’re r*pists, abusers, convicts, etc. and they get away with all sorts of things. (posting here cause I don’t know where else too cause I don’t usually comment, sorry it’s long) An open letter to Starship Entertainment: Watching the circumstances surrounding Wonho these past few weeks has been deplorable, irreprehensible and heart breaking. Kpop and Monsta X are two new things that have recently come into my life. My interest only started in January of this year (2019) and I’ve been following Monsta X seriously for less than six months. However, even in this short amount of time I have witnessed a dichotomy that continues to baffle me. From the time I was 11 yrs old (26now) I reveled in the rock and metal scene, a scene which is not without its own sins. But Kpop. Kpop where young, impressionable youth are taken and model as much as a human can be into a machine to produce a very specific fantasy surrounding music. A concept that is perpetuated by entertainment companies: your entertainment company. Wonho is an individual that from a very young age has sacrificed every opportunity a normal developing teenager should have. He did so in the hope that he could debut as an idol. He worked under extraordinary amounts of pressure to meet the demands of an industry that is never satisfied. It is during these beginnings years he meant a woman that offered him a place to live, offered to cover expanses under her own volition with no threat or coercion made on Wonho’s part. It is the worst kept secret that trainees make little to money, and what is made is once again taken by their company. Despite all this it has been indicated that Wonho worked to pay this woman back. The text messages that she, herself, provided do not actually incriminate Wonho. Those text messages show that a legal representative had already become involved (which is the correct thing to do) indicating that the sum had already been paid and this woman indicate in her own texts that she was not being cooperative. If her only aim was to get her money back why wait eight years? Why wait the exact week of a Monsta X comeback? Why not cooperate with the lawyer? Because this is what she does. She is a clout seeker with a track record to prove it. Wonho would be about the fourth or fifth male celebrity that she has done this to, most notably her attack on T.O.P. which led him to experiencing suicidal ideation. None of the accusations against Wonho where founded before Starship entertainment failed to protect their musician and essentially just kicked him to the curb. Years of hard work and sacrifice down the drain for what? Nothing. False accusations from a social parasite for her few seconds of fame. And how do you think that reflects on you, Starship Entertainment? It is not Wonho’s alleged scandals that everyone is talking about right now, it’s you. It’s about how Starship Entertainment has such little disregard for the people they are supposed to be taking care of that is the true scandal. Don’t you know how this is going to reflect on you from now on Starship? There’s Starship entertainment, did you hear what they did to Wonho? Starship entertainment doesn’t protect it’s idols. Starship entertainment abandons it’s idols. You don’t want to work for Starship Entertainment you can never be sure they’ll have your back. Starship Entertainment look around you. People have rallied around Wonho and are demanding his return. The longer he is gone is not something that will ever reflect on him but will forever reflect on you as a company. In less than 48 hours Monbebes raised $20,000 for a billboard in Times Square to show their support. And in less than two weeks amassed almost 500,000 signatures on a petition demanding his return. Monbebes have held multiple fan meetings all around the world in protest. And those are just the highlights. That is not also to mention the probably millions of online messages at this point in support of Wonho, Monsta X and demanding that Wonho be brought back. And here’s the thing Starship Entertainment, after all of this, after everything has been said and done what if the accusations against Wonho are true? To which I say: I don’t care. We don’t care. Monbebe does not care. I don’t care if Wonho owes someone money. I am over $60,000 in debt from student loans, who am I to judge? Who is anyone to judge? The average person in the entire world owes some entity some amount of money. Whether it be credit card debt, borrowing from family, student loans, having a mortgage on your house is debt. So let those without sin cast the first stone. Because if anyone has ever owed any amount of money regardless of current debt/debt free status they cannot judge. If it turns out that Wonho has smoked marijuana, again I say: I don’t care. This man has showed up time and time again to every performance, every practice, every fan meet and has done his job. Wonho stands out even among Kpop idols in the amount and manner in which he interacts with his fans. When you kicked Wonho out of Monsta X you severed a lifeline to the fans. And maybe I am being to much of a foreigner in my viewpoint, after all debt is common in my country and my country is currently has people trying to make marijuana legal. But if my viewpoint is to foreign I say this to you Starship Entertainment: You asked for it. In your ambition to gain more revenue you promoted Monsta X in multiple foreign markets, to the extent that you now have them signed with an American record label. If you want my money, then you had better be prepared to make concessions and take a different approach when issues arise than you normally would. You wanted to break into a foreign market, so you better be prepared for the backlash that is going to occur when we don’t agree with how you are treating your idols. I have only been a fan of Monsta X for a short time, but in that time I have witnessed caring for a group of fans that I have rarely seen in my years exploring music. Learning of Wonho’s departure was like a slap in the face. Kpop and Monsta X are an entity that I use as an escape from a high stress job. Monbebe will never stop fighting for Monsta X, if you do not fix this to their last day Monbebe will declare that Monsta X is seven. You still have time to remedy this, you need to remedy this. My question, is " Why is his, or any Idol's Personal Life anyone's business, but their's? I mean i know they have variety show's, and award shows. But, Why are they doing Vlive ? Why are they in Dorm's instead of their own places? Why does the company have such strong rules, for them? Why is everything that happens to an Idol a Scandal? This is just my opinion, But, it seems to me that these companies, won't allow the groups to have a life outside of them. Well, there's actually more going on with the group than what you mentioned, there were other accusations against Wonho that were what made him leave, and Shownu had more info and pictures leaked than just the "affair" with this woman... Starship has been taking legal actions against everyone who spread this info, but we still don't know what will happen. It's so unfair how people won't forgive past mistakes and ask for idols to be always perfect, they refuse to acknowledge they're human too. I don't want to have many expectations on Wonho coming back, but apparently he's still in the company so it's a possibility.

I really, really hope Wonho will come back. Only if he wants to, of course, but I really miss him :c And yes, no kpop artist has ever returned to their group after leaving due to a scandal (at least as far as I know), but no fandom has EVER protested as much and as diligently as the Monsta X fandom. I don't know what the future holds for them but I do know that their fans did everything they could, and that Monsta X has seen that. On top of that, I think this was a very targeted and deliberate attack. A slew of rumors/scandals came out in a matter of just a few days, it's too much to be a coincidence. Monsta X and Wonho don't deserve to be ruined over this.

I have been commenting when I can at how this USA citizen has been affected. Sometime in August I happened to stumble upon Monsta X 's Hero. I instantly fell in love with the song and played Monsta X nonstop. I love this group so much so that when I heard about Wonho's troubles I was devastated. I can't believe that Starship didn't help instead of letting him leave the group if that's what happened. We can only hope us Bebe's support can get Wonho back where he belongs, with Monsta X. I'm happy they have new songs but it would much better all the songs being MV's and not just lyrics. Among others I Love Shoot Out and Alligator. Singing and dancing are excellent and Joohoen and IM's rapping can't be beat.

MonstaX and Wonho will always have international fans whether it be as a group or solo career. So how much did this girl get paid and how much of her story got twisted to reflect a more damaging story than what it actually was? The international fans are awesome and will not judge someone who had it tough growing up. We are more grounded and live for their music. We don't have nor expect the picture perfect image that Korean fan's want for their idols. Wonho is an artist that came from tough beginnings to being a successful artist he deserves love ,support and above all respect because he disclosed his past when he didnt have to and he learned from it.
