@@InternetsNathan One more thing: Ador is the only label that’s created from scratch other than Be Lift. But Ador is the only one created specifically for a person. Be Lift is a label created as a joint venture of two companies. I know you already know all this but I merely want to point out to illustrate a point. As such, each company which joined HYBE has a preexisting leadership team. Each of these leadership teams direct their own creative direction, such as whether to do a promo, when, whether to do a teaser, what kind, whether to do photo cards, what kind of alum or poster, etc. Resources to execute these are from their parent company, HYBE. This is the incentive for smaller pre existing labels to join a bigger conglomerate such as HYBE and Kakao. In HYBE’s case, a lot of them was independently owned by friends of the founder of HYBE. While in Kakao’s case the acquisitions are less friendly. Supports such as money, staff, material, and labour, among others which I won’t list since I think you get the idea, are obtained from each of their parent companies. Such as Kakao and HYBE, whose business encompasses A LOT MORE than kpop. If such control had been asserted towards Ador, I doubt they (and when I say “they” I know most kpop fans only think of Bang SH) would let her use the “This record surpasses BTS mega hit song Dynamite” phrase for 75 times in one press release alone. That’s just my thought.

@@HailToTheMeep In this case each of those labels you mentioned have creative control. However, to bring the conversation back to the topic at hand much like HYBE, Kakao could motion to remove someone in a leadership or creative position to appoint someone else so…

I am merely asking the question: If a huge conglomerate with a large variety of businesses to manage financially, would be inclined to meddle in such smaller scale operations such as a creative direction of a label. And if so what would the financial invectives be. Because no conglomerate would spent time tweaking creative outputs without any financial reasons. Thanks for the response. Been enjoying your content since I found BTS, was researching about them during the pandemic, and became more curious about kpop which by then had changed a lot from how it sounded during the 2nd gen, so was more interesting to me.
