Drugs and mental health struggles. His brother being gunned down by police during a mental health episode sent him off the edge I think.

Nice video! NSN was so amazing. The impact and influence they had was remarkable... One of the most underrated bands ever.

Thank you so much! And oh yeah their influence is still felt today, even after 15 years
@KyDaog4 ай бұрын
I was about 13 or 14 when NSN first blew up on the scene, and I absolutely loved his music until he started getting into more band type artistry. Once he released Time Travel is about the time I stopped keeping up with his newer music because he kind of lost that aesthetic that everyone during that era flocked to him for. But hearing how everything turned out, seeing how much different he is, really is a cruel visual of how the world really can just chew you up and spit you out. Still a huge fan of his earlier music like I said, even at almost 30 years old, that part of me will never die, I wish the best for him and hope he turns it all around.

Chris is a really smart, talented guy. Troubled, for sure. I’m around his age and grew up in Joplin and ran around social circles he frequented. Seemed like there was a switch around 2011-2012 when he started really getting into heavy psychedelics. It was so sad to hear about his brother, David. I’m sure that couldn’t have helped any problems he was having.

Thank you for the insight, super interesting to hear from someone who knew him more personally, definitely a ton of talent, and I’m hoping he’s putting it towards whatever he sets his mind to.

NSN is and always will be my favorite band of all time. As a fan that has stayed loyal, I've definitely seen even more bits and pieces that show the good, bad and ugly. I've met him a few times, and even the first time, when he almost slipped through undetected and my annoying overexcited teenage self outed him as he walked by, he was so sweet. I did see a documentary about Warped Tour and he was talking about missing out on his childhood a little, and he was injured and these girls still wouldn't leave him alone. I saw interviews about girls hiding in his dressing room. I saw girls at a concert trying to light other girls on fire for blocking their view. Back when all he wanted was the spread peace. I feel awful for him, and there have been little things he's mentioned more recently that make so much sense. His brother was also obviously a big trigger, and his brother had mental issues WITHOUT all the drugs and fame, so it clearly ran in the family. I will miss NSN forever, but I know he needs his peace. He claims there will be one last tour next year, but you never know until you know. If I was good at videos I could have a whole series myself, but I've already rambled too much.

Growing up, my dad and I never agreed on anything especially my taste in music. That all changed when he heard me listening to 30 days by NSN and proceeded to go full fan girl mode asking who the band was and if they’re playing in the area anytime soon bc “wow what a voice”

I’d give anything to go back in time and go to one of their concerts. I never had the chance back then but to this day I still know the lyrics of all their songs and to sing them with a bunch of people who know them too would just be 🔥

I know how it feels to lose a brother, feelings of why do I deserve any of this. Maybe Drew felt a similar feeling and couldn't emotionally connect with the band or the music any longer. Grieving can be a very impactful device, and can change your behaviors, sleeping patters, diet. The channel probably didn't intentionally brush over that, but could see how that might have effected him.

The Bryan Stars interview? A funeral in real time. The band looked like hostages who lost a bet. Far-left guy: pure haze victim, dissociating like it was his new job. Drew? Walking HR disaster, probably one tantrum away from implosion. Mustache guy on the right? The Switzerland of the group-neutral, detached, and dodging drama like Neo in The Matrix.
@HorizonEyes4 ай бұрын
so funny watching that interview back now with my wife. Bryan was acting like a baby & wouldn't just stick to real questions when they kept asking. He was rude to everyone behind the scenes anyways. I used to feel really bad for him when I was a kid watching that video lol

Idk, everyone knew what Bryan’s interview style was by that point, they knew what kind of interview they were getting into. They could have just said no. Seems stupid then to have him drive 7 hrs just to embarrass him.
