Thank you so much! This seriously means a ton to me since this video was months in the making for the writing process and creation of visual elements. One of the things I'm most passionate about is sharing details about music and videos with other people, and I wanted to share the details in these songs in a way that people could easily understand and visualize, so I'm really glad that it came across well! I love experiencing new discoveries in music and I'm glad I could share it with you!!

Haha! As objectively as I tried to make this video, I will say that I personally also enjoyed the crowd vocal AHH's from the original song! It sounds more like a full crowd chanting the hook instead of the more obvious vocal doubles that sound like one person recorded multiple takes in Taylor's Version.

I personally love the instrumental production in Taylor's version and also Taylor's vocals too my only issue with the new version of the song is those "AHHH," I like more the "AHH"s in original than to the Taylor's version, it really sounds like children's crowd screaming that...

Can you do Out of the Woods? I honestly believe it is the best re-recording in 1989 for adding some snare in the interludes after each chorus. And the vocal layering at the last chorus is so top tier and more present
@swiftie_flop2 күн бұрын
i prefer the tv because it sounds a lot fuller. however in the tvs it sounds like the instruments are jumbled up and they dont have much individuality, almost like the instrumental is static with a melody. you can really hear what im talking about in this song, 22 (especially when the 2nd verse starts and main synth in the chorus), i knew you were trouble, all you had to do was stay, and how you get the girl.

New Romantics was one of my favs from 1989, now it isn't (I still don't get used to it..) The og version has a lot more of emotional deliver on Taylor's Vocals, it is more energetic, that's what I love about that song. In Taylor's Version I can't feel the same energy, it's a little more calm, but enough to make a difference. Also, I don't like the crowd in the TV, I feel like children are screaming at me. I know if I listen to it more often I'll get used to it (like Style) but the crow sreams really annoys me. Also, the intro is "low" compared to the orginal and that also takes out points from the "energetic song" I really like the new technique she uses, TV sounds a lot more professional but it took away a lot of energy from my point of view. New Romantics is still a GREAT song and an anthem in any version tho. I'm not expert in music but really understood your video, great explanation and it is so complete, love it!

While I don't think the Taylor's Version of New Romantics is terrible as I do think the production sounds fuller, it does lack a certain gravitas the original has
@SperosNestКүн бұрын
I think a lot of the instrumental matches the energy of the vocals in each one for an overall balance, and that gravitas in the original is helped a lot by the lively energy from Taylor Swift's earlier vocals along with a more explosive percussive section and more echoes and spatial audio that were relevant for the high-energy anthems of the 2010's!

I feel like the og is more reversed/muffled and in general have that retro synth feel while the new is burger and harsher and feels more like a modern remaster or remake and looses its vintage touch
@msdenise123456719 сағат бұрын
I don't know what it's called, but the music going 'up' as if on a reverse musical slide, in the chorus, is so cheap on the new version. It annoys me so much, so I prefer the old one. I prefer 22, Style and New Romantics over the Taylor's Versions. But I do love Out Of The Woods TV, bc it's more chaotic, which matches the lyrics. I did gain a new appreciation for Welcome To New York and Blank Space with the rerecordings. So it's kind of a balance act for 1989 TV.
@beatrizx315918 сағат бұрын
I usually love all the rerecordings tayor releases,but for some reason,i can't bring myself to enjoy 1989 tv. Like,i think there were improvements,especially when it comes to her vocals,but in the original,you can just feel the emotion in her voice and the production works really well with the vocals,even if they aren't perfect. In the tv,Taylor sounds much more "robotic",and i think that her voice being so mechanically better actually kinda downgrades the project imo,as oposed to the other taylor's versions,where the technicall improvements she has gone through so far actually contribute to the project

I kid you not, at first I thought it was the difference of the verse drums and the chorus drums but it isn't...The drums are just weaker from TV to the OG.

The og is definitely more emotional imo. So are EVERY other 1989 og version. I don't know much about music, but Jack, I think, couldn't pull off the synth-pop, or the overall pop sound in the whole 1989 album. I couldn't enjoy 1989 tv at all.

I love taylor and will always support in her re recordings artists ownership of their own work as it is really important but, to me the newer version just feels less emotional and for me its a big reason why I connect with her music. Im also not sure but in the newer version I keep hearing "gulps" compared to the old one. (If you want to compare yourself listen between 0:45 and 0:48, in taylors version you should hear it around 0:46.)
@SperosNestКүн бұрын
I feel like this is what tends to happen when making recreations that try to mirror the same thing. If Taylor Swift made a "Taylor's Version" which was an acoustic version of New Romantics or a remix or anything in that scope, it would be different enough to be seen as it's own creation which has its own level of quality. Trying to recreate it to match the old version just results in a version that sounds slightly off. It might sound better to some people, or worse to others, but overall, people can tell that it's an imitation, and imitations are always going to suffer somewhat in quality. It's like the Mona Lisa, and if someone repainted the Mona Lisa in their own style, you could get some cool looks like a cartoon version or abstract version. Trying to recreate it like the original typically results in a version that seems familiar but feels off. Great observation with the gulps btw! I didn't notice that, but I'll check it out because that's a great catch!
@oh.sorry.dont.mind.meeeee19 сағат бұрын
@@SperosNestin terms of the Mona Lisa, there are people whose job it is to restore old ancient works of art or architecture to try to bring out its original qualities as much as possible and there are people who do reproductions whose job it is to match something exactly, which forgers do for paintings, and do it well. There's some value there. it would have worked out better if she could have secured the exact same producers, but unfortunately, I don't think that was possible for the 1989 album. Max Martin and Shellback worked on the original but not the remake as far as I know. For brand new fans like me who weren't really listening to any of these songs back then when they came out, the Taylor's versions aren't being compared to anything when I listen really. And because I refused to stream the originals on principal, this is the only way I get to enjoy it, so I'm super pleased that it at least sounds enjoyable to my ears. I'm really glad that she's been successful in this endeavor, hopefully it changes the industry for the better. 🩷 I don't really understand music producing, so this was fascinating to watch. 👍

@@oh.sorry.dont.mind.meeeee Great point! I actually hadn't heard of that before in terms of the art replication jobs, so that was a cool new thing to learn!
