Y'all do realize most of these "stunted growth" guys maxed out in High School or College everybody isn't going to make it to the NBA or become a NBA Superstar. As a DUKE fan of over 30 years Sean Dockery was a role player at best no matter which college he chose he wasn't making the league. He got a degree from one of the most prestigious universities in this country so to me he won.

I usually don't make request, but this brotha meant alot to me, as a younger man. And nobody does better player profiles, than you Jay-C. I would love to see you do, this brotha by the name of Shaheen Holloway. Had a real nice handle, played for Seton Hall (I believe he's from Queensbridge?). I saw basically all his games, from his later junior year, until their Sweet 16 loss -- to OK State -- his senior season (we had Direct TV with "ESPN Full Court" back then). He had that typical NYC inner city pg game at the time. Nice handle, tough driver, great leader, with a consistently inconsistent, outside shot. Lol. I love watching that dude play. Peace god. I feel like a bunch of Stunted Growth can be done about former Duke players. I.E Dockery, Shavlick Randolph, Daniel Ewing, Greg Paulus, to name a few (And I know I'm missing a bunch of other names). How about doing a stunted growth about schools and start with Duke! So many players went there in hopes of but was simply the wrong choice. Coaching can be attributed as well in the stunted growth of players

I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of Sean Doc bro. I’m from Chicago, and I got to watch his entire HS career, and let’s just say he was spectacular. He was far more than a defensive player. The man averaged over 30 ppg in HS. And he was a star all four years....and he started all four years as well. Going to Duke was the worst decision for him. Had he gone to local D1 programs like Illinois, or DePaul he would’ve easily made it to the NBA. Coach K turned him into a defensive player, but he was much more than that.

I always thought Sean wasn’t a traditional pg and coach k kinda made him play the point and a defender. I would’ve loved to see him at DePaul or Cincinnati that year. He was definitely talented and he has some tremendous accolades.

Stunted Growth, separate from the court, the beauty of hoops is the debate! Yes, Doc went to the wrong school. Yes, Doc’s tools although limited did not translate to the league. His HS competition was solid. Although he didn’t play a National schedule ( few teams did as you know) the Chicago Public League was top notch in the early 2000s. Separate from East Coast prep schools, I can’t name another area at that time that had the prospects CPS had. Doc was on the National scene since he was 14. Chicago people blew him Up .. ( I know I was one) and he was unable to get better and never posed elite athleticism. I agree he should have went to a mid major or big 10 school at the time. Great piece. People call themselves hoop heads and fanatics but there is no doubt Stunted Growth is for real!! You cover guys only real hoop people know.
