What Happened to Our OFF-ROAD Camper?? - Rescuing Our Travel Trailer & Hitting The Road!

We’re back in Texas and trading our vintage RV for our beefy truck and off-road travel trailer! Of course it wasn’t an easy transition - our truck tires were flat and everything was a mess from sitting for almost a year. Hopefully the tires hold up and we remember how to drive this rig, because we have some big plans to go off-roading for the eclipse!

A solar eclipse is an awesome thing, I experienced one about thirty years ago and it's surprising how cold, dark and quiet it becomes (there were birds singing in the trees during my experience that went silent when it was dark). It was probably a once in a lifetime experience for me, I'm happy I was in the right place to see it.

We drove down from Washington state to Texas' Hill Country to see the eclipse. We had a few clouds, but the totality was absolutely clear. We had a great time!

Hello Allison and Eric. I stayed a month in West Texas back when I toured US. It got hot, so when spring came the TV adverts said "Summer is back!" The kids where we stayed were terrified of the hornets the size of a side plate.

We had clear blue skies in Indiana for the eclipse. I drove to Lafayette to pick up my daughter from college, and we drove to a farm field and pulled over. I'm from a farming family, so I didn't want to do a big viewing party thing.

At least flat tires are better than critters? Glad it wasn't anything major. We didn't get much of the eclipse where we are but it looked super cool. I love that you are able to see old friends - I know it's hard when traveling. I remember your video from when they were getting married and when she was pregnant. Kids, man. Fun fact, the reason they make a big deal about being well stocked and such when the eclipse happens and it’s because of traffic and the amount of people who travel in to watch it. Were in Kentucky and watched the last eclipse back in 2017? And the drive drown was about 2.5 hours and the drive back home was 10+ hours. Traffic on the interstate and back roads were bumper to bumper. The top speed we hit was maybe 15 mph

That‘s one plus with diesel fuel, it will last indefinitely in storage providing there are no avenues to contamination. I just love the sound of that first generation Powerstroke! That truck was indeed an excellent find. Enjoyed the eclipse👍

Hey, I went to Poplar Bluff for the eclipse. Clouds were predicted but it was clear skies the whole time! Fantastic! I went to a Baptist church that had free parking, fun blow up bouncing things for the kids to play on, and a free lunch. But it took me 8 hours to get home when it should have been 5 hours! So much traffic

My partner and I were in Poplar Bluff for the eclipse!!! We got some great photos! I thought there would be a small chance that we could run into you there! I kept my eyes peeled! Lol But now seeing this video, I see y’all made it to TX for the eclipse! Poplar Bluff had better skies than TX! That would have been SO COOL! A meetup with two of my favorite KZbinrs AND the eclipse?!? That would have been a once in a lifetime experience! Your Texas eclipse experience still looked fruitful! I was still impressed with the cloudy look, but yeah, no one was expecting TX to have clouds compared to the Midwest. My brother drove all the way from Iowa to Texas for it and MO was the better spot and we only had to drive 6 hours for our adventure!

Suggestion: To help yourself with lining up your hitch to the ball, buy the device that has tennis ball like objects on each end and has two expandable telescoping antenna. You raise the antennas that have the balls on the end and attach to the hitch and the receiver with the magnets, then ask you back up, align the balls to bring you in to almost exact hitch alignment. I might have bought mine at WalMart.
