Wow! Tragic. I'm so glad you vlogged this prior to the fires. My husband I could have lived there. Fire unfortunately doesn't discriminate. It would be good to see it once it had been rebuilt. Ironically, the church still stands. Thanx Jordon for another great vlog.

Sad..my high school in Lake Tahoe burned half way down right before I went back to visit. So many memories are still with me, but it’s devastating. This feels the same way. Shows and movies stick with you as you go through life. We escape through film and become part of another story. I hope this is taken care of eventually. 💕

😮(gasp!!) Wow Jordan, how very sad 😒. So much history. It's admirable that they want to rebuild, but the true stories and history are gone. So true we who live in the South California area are tested from time to time by Mother Nature (fires, flooding, earthquakes). But we're resilient 👍. Thanks so much for your time on this vlog 🤗. 🙏's for all going through the fires, now.

The problem is if the land is now controlled by the National Park Service, it will be very hard to rebuild. NPS land is public land and they must go through a long process to get permission to do it. And do we want our tax money to go rebuild it? It's not for me to say, but some wouldn't. According to the NPS website, the NPS purchased the land from Paramount and then revitalized it, so they have definitely spent money on it in the past. Also, they put up the fencing around what's left of the debris with the posters, so I would assume that they have a plan to do something with the ranch. It just takes time. With the threat of new fires, it probably isn't safe to build there at the moment.

I'm not surprised they haven't rebuilt the sets quite yet. Fire recovery can take years in the case of just normal homes or businesses (insurance process, &c), plus here they have an historic site that requires actual archaeological work before they can clear out the remains. Once the legalities and administrative hurdles are out of the way, there's the matter of including all stakeholders - eg the productions that would film there - in the project. I read that they plan on having much of the project complete by the end of next year, and the new sets won't be exact replicas of what used to be there. They've started from scratch because they want this to be a great working movie set and a wonderful museum.
