Thanks for watching, guys! This video was different from normal, but sharing whisky is often the stage for good stories, so let me know if you have any wild stories you like to tell over a dram of whisky!

Seriously, more like this in 2024. It’s great to have a pour and hear interesting stories!

I had always chalked the pinky down to overly intense enthusiasm. Now I know, but I don't believe the blanket story. Phil, they were coming for the whisky and they changed their story when you confronted them.

Wow, crazy story Phil, thanks for sharing. I think many of us have something like that. I can't straighten my left arm from a dislocated and fractured left elbow trying to skateboard at a party after a few drinks when I was younger - very silly. Also, a left leg 2.5cm shorter than the right from a RTC in The middle of nowhere on a scooter in Spain. Thankfully the car that hit us stopped as my foot was at a right angle to my leg. Ouch! Glad you feel able to share and you can still raise a dram. Cheers to your hairy pinky 🥃

When I was 16 I cut the tendens of my right pink and ringfinger in a incident involving a knife (to long story). It took me 2 surgeries and about a year of physio to recover but luckily it all worked out and my fingers have almost full function as I was lucky that the tendens retracted not to far, the only bad outcome of it all was that I can't play the guitar anymore. But I can relate to the adrenelinerush you get and feeling the pain after you calm down.

Not sure what's more impressive, your mates winding you up trying to prevent sunrise, or the fact you smashed through the window like an absolute boss to fight off the invaders! That's whisky for you.

This might be irrelevant, but first of all, I enjoy watching your videos, some are really informative, learnt a lot about whiskies from your channel, love the illustrations and style in your videos! I have recently just gotten a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14, realized that you haven't cover port cask whisky. Could you make a video about port cask and some of the whisky recommendations?

So... your hand got messed up, and you had to endure surgeries, physio and a world of pain and trouble, because some idiots thought it would be funny to spook you and your flatmate? Τhat is why I hate practical jokes. They are not funny. At all. And can go horribly wrong. The pranksters also show no consideration at all about what the person at the receiving end of a stupid joke may be going through and how he/she might react. I am sorry you had to go through this, mate. And thanks for sharing.

I saw where this story was going right away because my dad has a similar thing. He stuck his hand into a blender when he was young and dumb. They grafted skin from his inner thigh to his fingers and he has the same scar patch as you, except on his thigh. Thankfully he didn’t lose functionality or anything but one of the fingers has only a mangled sliver of a nail, the rest won’t grow. Incidentally, my dad also ran in front of a moving swing and got his front teeth knocked out by the kid on the swing when he was 8. He’s been wearing dentures ever since as those were his permanent teeth. I bring this up to say that the incidents really changed him. He is the most overly cautious and stern person I know, not the kind to engage in horseplay at all, but I saw a b&w photo of him as a child and he was extremely rambunctious and naughty. Up until I saw that photo, I couldn’t imagine him any other way and couldn’t identify with him. Seeing that photo suddenly humanized him and so much now made sense. He was just like me as a kid. Also, my dad is a PhD in high energy physics. He is literally a nuclear physicist who worked on satellites. So apparently even really really smart people can be really really dumb as well. Doesn’t that make you feel better about yourself now? 😁😇

Hi, I write you this comment because I need some advice to create my own KZbin channel. I am one of your French listeners and I have to watch only English content about whisk(e)y to find something or someone interesting. So I have the idea to create my own French whisk(e)y channel to share my passion with all the French community. But I have never created any content on KZbin and I am a little scary about what to do and how to do it. So have you got any advices that can help me in my project ? And thank you for what you do with your channel every videos are great and interesting I love it.
