What happened to Roblox Camping games?

It makes me sad we’ll never get a sequel to High School. With The Forest expansion, it’s one of the few Camping games to have a tangibly oppressive atmosphere, that was spiced up with hints of cosmic horror. There’s a lot of room for a sequel to expand on those cosmic elements, while also make something truly disturbing.

Yeah the problem it how you get to each part .So many people would be dead at part 1 then part 2 would be more challenging which requires at least more distraction (players). I don’t think that what fully killed it . It would be outside the game like less hype for camping games and probably didn’t want to focus on the game anymore . It’s still a shame of how high school would end in a goddam cliff hanger when things got interesting

I miss the original Camping's atmosphere. It felt genuinely unsettling. But then these type of story games became a lot more kiddie. I wasn't going to be scared of beings like "Scary Larry". I wonder if it's because Roblox is kid-oriented, so more creators had to make their story games take on a softer horror approach to appeal to them. But I still wish we could have more darker story games that don't hold back.

I think what would make a good horror game is it’s just a normal game but it’s extremely uneasy and unsettling like there’s No jump scares or anything that’s supposed to be scary it’s just always extremely uncomfortable to play through

I remember playing the first Camping game years ago. I used to have an amazing time and everything! Now when I played it in 2023. It doesn't feel the same anymore. The owner who made the game removed the original soundtrack that was litearlly nostalgic... I didn't play other camping games tho. I remember playing the first one. And it was my favorite camping game and still holds as my favorite to this day. If only the owner didn't change/removed the soundtrack when you had to survive in-game, Everything would have been how I remembered.

Thanks to chain lemonade and tuckit tom, they are the reason why camping games are dying. They always have repetitive games of the "we have to save blah blah blah before blah blah blah takes over blah blah blah" type games. And the bosses are also repetitive like the attack patterns and yet they become insanely popular and die quickly. Its sad to see that other devs work so hard to their games only to see nobody Playing them but play those Stupid chain lemonade and tuckit tom type games

@@Whoseknownasthis well I have some good news Tuckittom aka trashtom closed down the group wall because of everyone hating him for his 2 new games this year which got privated later on. They were Toca Boca life story and popstar story which are senseless games. I gave him too much negativity. Now ever since the group wall closed down for good all of his games died but the babysitter story isn't dying but it had a great loss of players. And I hate the fact that chain won't accept that his games died and still yet drops a different title of something trendy like he changed his explorer Elizabeth story to Megan story just to get the players back. I'm sad that eco crashed one of the best story game devs decided to rebrand his games to something trendy as well. Some people also hate this idea as well. The 2 never stop fixing their games unless someone starts a protest to make them do it

Tbh I'm thinking about making a story game in the future because this was one of my favourite genres back in 2019, 2020, will definitely make it as unique as possible because a lot of these story games are just low effort and repetitive

Minitoon and Samson (forgot how to spell his name) are quite similar, both uploaded a Roblox horror game that started a trend of other horror games using the same idea, and the creator expanded the story, before the trend slowly disappeared

I used to love the story game genre. Among my favourite are all of SamsonXVI's games (besides Mo's Academy that one sucks), all of ponchoking's (his were probably the best beside Samson's), i liked overnight by crikyuu (i think that was one that everyone copied with going to someone's house and someone has an allergic reaction or something then it turns out the person who owns the house is a monster), Horror portals I think it was called and High school by melonslice. Though most of them were poorly made or had bad plots, i didn't mind as they still entertained me. I must've played like 500 story games back then and now I still return to some like hotel or airplane

SamsonXVI and ponchoking are great story makers I loved poncho's stories especially the airplane stories and circus trip is also good the story is great and the design for the giggler is so good you should try it if you haven't already and a normal camping story is also pretty fun

When I was wanting to try the game there were no players and the teleporter won't teleport you solo unless you have 10 people. I watched the video of the gameplay. You go camping and your tent catches fire the next day and you have to jump in the lake to extinguish yourself. I forgot which night the rescue team came but I do remember that if the helicopter sat the amount of players it can fit, you will get the betrayed ending because you couldn't get in the helicopter. If you do, you will get good ending

If you don't remember that game, it was a terrible made game as it had no in-game music except at the part where you sit by the campfire in the first night and the plot was nonsensical as the ranger told us that he betrayed us because we built the boat for him. The reason why he betrayed us is because of being stuck at that island. So we suffer through boulders and a tsunami. Then we get rescued by a helicopter. Thank God nobody plays it anymore
