Despite not having been that deep in the Screwattack community during its time, (having started roughly 2011 or 2012, when I was about 10 or 11), they were one of my absolute favourite content creators on KZbin. The Top 10's, Evil Craig, Death Battle, the early days of the GameAttack videos & channel (along with being the people who introduced me to Game Theory, PeanutButterGamer, ProJared, etc.), I would be joyous anytime any of their shows had a new upload, & frequently rewatch older stuff 'cause they were all 'n all just that fun to watch. Some of the fondest I recall was Death Battle; Knuckles vs. Donkey Kong, & I believe Top 10 Zelda Bosses (whichever video had the "George Washington" Koloktos joke in it). Hell, with learning about SGC, I think it was a childhood dream to somehow attend one of them live, despite living out-of-country. but since their closing, I had a crude understanding of what had happened. they got bought out, members had disagreements & left the company, Screwattack sadly sank at the end, shit sucked. But I never truly got the full picture or learnt about the innerworks of what did happen & why. really... The reason I came across this video was because Roosterteeth's announced closing, having been reminded of Screwattack's existence & wanting to learn what happened with them, since Roosterteeth had owned Screwattack (but thanks to this vid, learnt it was bought by the parent company Fullscreen & placed underneath that of Roosterteeth). And I have very mixed feelings about them. on the one hand, I loathed them for what became this acquisition of Screwattack, hindering their production, the eventual closing of Screwattack & separation of its members, but mainly being left with a visceral, "seriously, these are the chucklefucks who own Screwattack now??" anytime the harsher news & drama came up the latter half of the 2010's. on the other hand, I can recognize there were in fact legitimate & hardworking people who've had a hand in creating some long-term content & enjoyment of the time, & I do feel remorse for them given this current time. if wasn't understood before, I'm not a big Roosterteeth guy, but I did indulge in RWBY while it was undergoing Volume 3 (upto Volume 5 was when I lost interest), but did get myself rather deep into Red vs. Blue (dropping off somewhere in the double-digit seasons, I genuinely don't remember). even Death Battle, which fell off for me greatly since the rebranding, I'd still indulge in the videoe that interested me, at least still glad to see the hosts & whoever of the original teams still working on a beloved series. regardless, I am wishing them luck in their future endeavours & lives outside Roosterteeth, hoping for their best. but, anytime I think about Screwattack, it always hits me strong with the bittersweet, typically more bitter than the sweet. I guess 'cause it's a 'bit of childhood that's lost to time & unfortunately isn't around anymore or finished unnaturally, making it harder to truly reminisce fondly. though I think thanks to this video, it had given a 'bit of much needed closure of Screwattack's history & why it came to be. and I deeply thank & appreciate you for making this retrospective, history kinda' thing. while it does still hurt to remember Screwattack got screwed over this way, it does help remembering the fun that was had & knowing successes many of them since.

I just hate how many stuff has been lost media from that site after they joined Rooster Teeth and FullScreen. Before RT shutdown I archived a lot of Hard News from 2011-2014 the ones from 2008-2010 are practically lost, Evil Craig, The Royal Rumbles from 2011-2015, Nerdtastic and something else. I have a channel where I am uploading all the Hard News Stuff I have for videogame history mostly. For me Screwattack will always be the best site for gaming that existed too bad many of those videos are lost or privated on the Death Battle channel. I really wish Screwattack would have just changed their structure for animation with Death Battle but still being a videogame channel on the other so both can coexist side by side than making DeathBattle take over.

He's joined by a rotating cast of guests to react to the happenings of the video game industry and is noticably more politicized than it was before. WB has shut down fullscreen and all the digital media properties tied to it including death battle. However death battle is in the proccess of going indie and crowdfunding their next season In is podcast Craig has expressed interest in buying back the rights to Screwattack from WB but they refuse to even make an offer. If you tell me what part specifically you’re looking for I might be able to help you. Additionally I don’t have a song list because I used copywritten music and if I include it in the description the video could get flagged by Content ID

I loveeed Screw Attack! I tried to watch lots on SideScrollers YT, but over time I realized Craig and cast share a ton of nasty opinions against LGBTQ. I feel conflicted to support that. Wonder what the other peeps are up to? Thanks for this retrospective on a website that influenced me a lot.

That's just incorrect. I don't intend to be mean but do you really feel that way or does the media you consume train you to believe that?

Oh noooo. He is not believing in infinite genders and has rainbows vomited all over his channel. 😭😭😭

There is some very good info in this video. But you need to slow down. You are speaking way too quickly, it is hard to follow and comes across more as an info dump than a documentary. It feels like a ninth grader rushing though a class presentation. Slow down, relax, allow a pause every now and then. Other than that, a very interesting video.

Funny thing is I did make this in part as an assignment in class in my senior year. I naturally talk very fast and I do try and slow down in later videos

I never understood why the death battle was so popular.. I don't recall seeing a single episode... it's just some fake rigged fighting with cartoon characters.

They put a lot of effort into researching and animating the fights. I get why it’s popular and stuff like the Omni man vs home lander fights are really impressive at replicating the Style of the source material
