​@@LunaP1 I was watching _Avatar: TLA_ for the first time (yeah, yeah, late to the party) as I was finishing up the show that everyone else... apparently grew to hate, I think? Anyways, it was a stark contrast, but I was mostly left with one striking thought: '_Avatar_ had fewer episodes than That One did, and yet their writers managed to tell a well-composed, cohesive story with excellent characters and character development in that amount of time, even with filler'. I wasn't expecting the moon (heh) from That One's writers, but I was expecting that lessons were learned from the past, at least in small ways. Turns out that was expecting the moon. And forgetting that _Korra_ itself also forgot many of those lessons. If _Storm Hawks_ ever does get a reboot, yeah, let's hope their potential writers learn from these shows. I did get reminders of _Storm Hawks_ while watching That One, but I'd rather get more reminders of _Avatar_ when watching a future _Storm Hawks_ series.

Ah, Storm Hawks. Such an underrated show. I loved every simple yet satisfactory episode of it and it is on my list of favorite shows. I believe it continued in comic form? I wasn't able to be around for them since things are such a disturbance.

Honestly, I really like the whole "oneshot adventure per episode" format, but I admit that it's a format that was also done in Avatar the Last Airbender and Voltron: Legendary Defender seasons 1 and 2 in ways that also included more story progression, so I see your point about how Storm Hawks could've and probably should've had more of a continuing storyline. That being said, I still adore this show madly and, in my heart of hearts, it will honestly always be my number 1 franchise/show/fandom. But thank you SO MUCH for making a video about Storm Hawks and giving it some much-needed spotlight!!! Thank you!!!

I found it interesting when talking to people about the show, the primary following/people who knew the show was mostly women. Not sure why it appealed in that way, but I think it has something similar to the way Legend of Zelda games appeal to many women.

There were a couple other reasons Storm Hawks didn't go anywhere; Firstly, Avatar the Last Airbender was airing during the same time frame, and secondly, the Writers Strike in 2007. The Strike dead stopped a lot of shows when it happened, and not all of them were able to successfully "revive" after the hiatus'. Storm Hawks also had the weird problem in the 2nd season of the episodes being available online/leaked before they aired on TV, so the ratings dropped because people had already seen the new stuff. Twas a sad time.

Storm Hawks is one of three shows that stuck in my head growing up, the others being Avatar (of course) and Dragon Booster. They are directly responsible for inspiring what would become my first story, and are why I ended up writing in the first place.

Some clarification because I see a lot of people getting this wrong: terras aren't floating landmasses, they're mountain peaks; they look like they're floating because they're so high up that they're surrounded by mist. I remember watching a promotional trailer for this show at the cinema when I went to watch Bee Movie with my family. Looked pretty epic on the big screen. Before that, I saw some previews on Cartoon Network and thought about how cool the show looked and how I wanted to watch it. I mean... GIANT. FLYING. MOTORCYCLES. That is the ultimate embodiment of rule of cool. Got instantly hooked when it aired. Aerrow was always my favorite; he may or may not be the reason why I grew to like redheads, lol. Cyclonis, Starling, and Finn were my other favorites.

Your reaction to the figure's face lmao I think they did the noses like that otherwise they'd be with that weird 'no nose' look since they're 3d animated. Probably why the rest of the model also has some outlines, which I appreciated because it didn't make them as awkward (except when they articulate lol). Stork was my favorite as well. It's honestly a shame this series ended without concluding because the lore and overall world they built for it is so unique and interesting. They did Piper dirty - I mean c'mon she literally had some subplot WITH Master Cyclonis and I'd argue she's one of the most important members of the crew with her knowledge of crystals. Dang shame.

FYI the joke in the show about how girl toys don't sell has some truth in it girl action figures CAN sell if handled well but are often not handled well and as a result little boys (the core market for action figures and action toys in general) tend not to want them so they don't sell. A resent example comes from the women doctor who they toys and figures just didn't move.

I remember Storm Hawks airing over here- there were even DVD releases too. I liked it- liked the art style, but then it just kinda...vanished. For a future video- what about Generator Rex? It was a cartoon by Man of Action (the Ben 10 guys). I genuinely loved it but it was very underrated and due to some weird licensing issues you can’t even buy the episodes in the UK iTunes anymore. I’d love to know why it suddenly vanished, it ran for three seasons!

When I started thinking about this show again recently, I realized that I misremembered a lot of details. I recalled Aerrow's name, but not the atrocious spelling; I knew the role that each Storm Hawk member played on the ship and their personality traits, but not their names (except Finn... odd, I didn't even like him that much). The big one was that I remembered Cyclonus was a teen like all of the Storm Hawks and used magic... but forgot that she was the real villain and objectively in charge of her army. I somehow had it in my head that Dark Ace (the traitor, for everyone keeping track) was doing evil shit behind her back and using her inexperience as a leader to his advantage. His big character trait was his betrayal of the old SH team, so I guess I just assumed that backstabbing her to take full command was inevitable. Looking some things up, he seemed to be obnoxiously loyal to her which kind of contradicts his own characterization, though that could've been a farce too. If I were working on a remake, I would probably take that betrayal path with the story and try to give Cyclonus some kind of arc. I'm thinking the kind of story where she can see firsthand that everything kinda sucks with how she ran things. Being the sole reason Aerrow is an orphan, it makes sense that Dark Ace should be the real villain to combat Aerrow's position as the protagonist. Cyclonus was most likely a child when the Storm Hawks were originally defeated, so her position as the antagonist doesn't hold personal weight; it's an inherited role. Notably, she only had speaking lines in 9 episodes out of 52; for being the main villain of the series, that's not a lot. Her VA didn't really help in that regard; she kinda sounds like the Bloodbender from ATLA Season 3, which is not a good voice for someone that can blend in with 14 year olds. As an odd aside, her original VA not only did the voice of Rogue in the 90's X-Men series, but is currently a Member of Canada's Parliament as a Liberal representative for Nova Scotia. Lol, that's a little different though. Those figures are marketed toward older guys, not young boys. They appeal to waifu subculture and collectors. Fact is, boys just aren't interested in playing with female characters, no matter how cool they are; I speak from experience, my younger brother's the same way. They're at that stage where they still think girls have cooties. It's no one's fault, it's just part of their development. It would have been cool to have female action figures, however.

As you said, the characters were pretty flat, but I still believe that the Dark Ace, as cheesy as he can be, is one of the most badass villains in these types of shows (like Vilgax in the original Ben 10 series).

I had a figure for this show and didn't know it was from this show, then a couple years later I watched this show on Kix (any fellow brits remember that channel that no longer exists), I couldn't put my finger on it until I found the figure another year later and instantly realised it was from the show, at this point kix was no longer showing this show and I could never remember what it was called, thank you for reminding me of pieces of my childhood, being able to find out the old names like monsuno and Winx has been a great thing for me as I am able to escape to a time where the world wasn't shit and full of problems. Actually liked Stork the best too! The episode where he stops being afraid of everything happening he actually kicks ass bc he is actually prepared for everything happening and the bad guys aren’t. A little nature vs nurture. Then of course it’s back to status quo. Alas what could have been.

As a girl, why is there no Piper or other awesome female characters with a toy of them?! What?! But I do like the fact that Piper is a person of color and that she isn't just smart but can kick butt. And I do hope shows like Storm Hawks and Chaotic can at least maybe have a rerun. Something maybe please?
