I just played it last night for the first time. I will be working on getting this game running with parsec with a Button mapping program called reWASD. In reWASD after you made all controller. The key is to enable group. For instance, you want 4 players. In reWASD it would look like this in group Xbox+Xbox+Xbox+Xbox First you set up 4 controllers. after it's done. Keep on group for ever. Unplug the 3 controllers. When you turn PC back on. Your group should look like this Xbox+_____+______+______. When 3 players from parsec jump on your PC. It will go back to Xbox+Xbox+Xbox+Xbox the program will keep remapping buttons for new players by itself as long as you keep group on with all Xbox controllers.
@crazynaut2232 жыл бұрын
@Mikey DJ Technically yes but if your machine is incapable of downloading it then it probably can't use these alternate methods either
@100Bucks2 жыл бұрын
@Mikey DJ Any game on your PC can be hosted to play online no matter what. All games must be mapped with xinput (Xbox controllers) parsec will only understand this. If your game isn't xinput compatible. All your games you host in parsec won't work. reWASD program makes this way easier for you. Steam games are automatic xinput so you don't have to map those at all. Emulators and smash flash 2 needs to be mapped out completely so it can work inside parsec. Parsec works like this. You have one computer. You are sharing your computer with 3 other people from parsec. How ever you mapped all your controllers, that's how they will work for the 3 online players. Basically, you have one keyboard. You have to map all four players with your one keyboard. reWASD makes this process simple. It gives you a controller layout. Create 4 gamepads inside reWASD from left to right. All controllers must be in form of (keyboard keys) no controller should have the same keys at all. After you made 4 gamepads with reWASD. Open smash flash 2 and configure all 4 controllers exactly how you did it in reWasd. Now here's the important vital trick to get this to work. Do this before you do anything. Install parsec soda to help you settings up virtual controllers because most likely you have 1 or 2 controllers only. Ok leave reWASD open with your (one controller) plugged in. Then open parsec soda. Enable 3 controllers only in parsec soda. 3 controllers will pop up inside reWASD. Group all 4 controllers together like this. (Xbox+Xbox+Xbox+Xbox) that's your whole keyboard but in form of 4 controllers. After you group 4 controllers as one device, save it. Ok, now completely turn off parsec soda. (You don't need) this at all anymore. Now if you look inside reWASD your group should look like this. (Xbox+_____+______+______) That's exactly what you want. Now when you host games in parsec. Anyone who jumps on your PC will fill those empty slots automatically. reWASD will keep remapping 3 controllers for new players every time new players jump in. You only have to set this up one time. Then everytime you wanna host games on parsec. Turn on reWASD with group left opened at all times. You're good to go. You don't have to touch parsec soda no more. That was just to help you set up (group). So ... install smash flash 2 on your PC, set up the whole thing one time and you're good to go. reWASD makes the process easy. It can be done without reWASD but it's the best method for me. The program is worth buying. If you just want keyboard mapping it's $7.00. If you auto aim assist, rapid fire, turbo buttons all kinds a crazy modification it's $24.00 It's completely worth it because you map out games one time. Just host in parsec. No more waisting time trying to figure out controller setup. Just play, no controller work.

this might be an unpopular opinion, but i really miss the art style from 2010-2013. maybe I'm just extremally nostalgic for the common sprites from Super Mario World, Sonic Advance, JUS, Chain of Memories and all the other ones ripped from DS, GBA and SNES games. The original reveal trailer from 2008 is pure nostalgic gold. It's kind of wild to think during this game's development we've had 4 smash games released.

My main issue is that for the roster they are picking too many characters that are already in Smash Bros. The appeal of SSF was that it had the characters you’d never see in a Smash game. They need to lean into that much more. The fact that Smash games did add characters like Sora, Cloud, Mega Man, Simon, etc. makes SSF feel much less unique. Originally they were going to add Vegeta and Sasuke but they decided not to which I think is a shame because they would bring players. I just don’t feel the need to get back into SSF when they add a character like Ganondorf because I can just play Smash.

I think the main reason ssf2 is dying may be the browser, but I'd argue it is the netcode. It's based from flash which makes it extremely hard to support, same reason why it's not receiving too many updates too. People just don't use flash to code anymore. I think we could get a sequel more likely than an update, starting again in something bigger and better that could turn the "series" around.
@crazynaut2232 жыл бұрын
Flash is obsolete but still a very easy software to use, and some of the team has gone on record saying they wouldn't want to keep working on the game if it was in a different software. Either way I don't think we're ever getting a sequel; fifteen years is already a long time to work on a fan project and not get paid for it, if they wanted to "start again" then at that point just make something like Fraymakers that can actually be sold for money.

I've been watching you on and off for years but I was massively into the game during the late 9B/early Beta days. I just remember all the hype and playing the game with my friends online when that was first possible all the time. I haven't played in a few years and sort of stopped smash altogether. That being said my theory was also that in the leadup to Ultimate people were playing the game a lot more because smash 4 was dull/inaccessible on the Wii U in the late era. Games like Slap City and Rivals were also much bigger in the Smash 4 era I always thought because of the Wii U. Even Br*wlhalla blew up during that time. I think a lot of the community were people like me who were into smash when they were younger given the browser nature and just moved on sometime in the ultimate days. Sorry for the essay and if you're still reading this let me know if you had a similar experience or if I'm totally wrong lol

Honestly what made me stopped playing the game were 2 things: 1) Causally, it is impossible to join a match majority of the time as too many others are joing the same match, and if I happened to join one... It'll be the competitive player that thought, "time to stomp casuals in the downtime" kind and honestly isn't much fun. If it isn't the competitive players, then they'll most likely quit for some reason and ruin the experience. 2) My computer literally can't run properly anymore.

I mean, a true PC port with online functionality like Slippy for Melee could make it bigger, plus there's always a room for possibilities, take Project B for example, inspired by Project M/+.

I really wanna play this game again dude, I just don’t have access to it as far as I’m aware. Before flash died I was kinda lucky. Being able to get versions with near complete rosters on school computers with all the limitations was pretty sweet. Maybe one day I’ll play again.

Super Smash Flash 2 is by no means a bad game, it’s still really good, but it is quickly being dwarfed by PMEX Remix in terms of content and competitiveness to be honest. It’s honestly kinda crazy how quickly (For the most part) that new characters and updates keep popping up in the past 3 or so years. Really all they’d need to do now is add in Rayman, Krystal, Chibi-Robo, and Black Mage and they’d have all of the game characters from this, and Conker because of Smash 64 Remix and many other obvious reasons. And it’s already planned to have all of the characters from a Ultimate as well, so I’d say it’s easily gonna be the definitive Smash game in the next 2-4 years. I have no doubt that they’ll be on top of their game if there’s ever another official Smash game that adds in even more characters as well since we got Sora within a year or less of his inclusion.
