Perry - so glad you took a quick moment to update us. Every time one of my favorite YT’ers disappear I wonder, worry and pray they are doing well. I myself have been out of action since June, so I can certainly imagine how you’ve been feeling. As you know, we all must take care of ourselves first. It’s only when we are well that we can faithfully and honestly share the joy and knowledge with others. We’ll be here when you’re ready. And don’t forget, as painful and debilitating as surgery can be, I’m always thankful that there is a surgical option to improve the future. 👍👍😎👍👍

Yeah, the days after surgery surely do suck, but it is a miracle that we can do it and come out better on the back side. I'm not really looking forward to the pain of the second, but I am looking forward to being on the final path to being healed. I'm glad that so many people have taken the time to write, thank you

You have enspired me. I will be making bells. Bigstackd got me into melting. I now have 2 forges. And jest got the frame built for my mobile shop. I'll be doing a traveling youtube channel melting metal in different places. And bells and nordic gold are what I'll melt some other sand casting. I love the way you fill from the bottom up. The channel will have a comic side.but also a serious side when it comes to melting and pouring metal. I hope you can return to you tube soon.ill be looking for you. Well that's inspiring 😄 I've actually done a few videos since that one was published, but unfortunately not as many as I would like. Sorry to hear about your health. Its all you've got, it must come first. Recently I pulled my back badly lifting a 20kg cope. Not doing that again so I 3d printed some hooks and pivots, cast them in a tiny molding box and attached them to my large cope and now using a small shop make gantry crane I can lift the 20kg cope. The hook/pivot design allows me to rotate the cope to work on it and lower back over the drag. Happy to share the files if you'd like to do the same

@@swdweeb Mathias just did a short on multi tone ringing tunes. It made me wonder if the sides of a bell were modified in a similar way would it have a similar effect. Once I retire early next year I am going to get back into casting and thus is something I really want to explore.

@@JointerMark Here's the problem, if you retire early next year, we wont be speaking. I still have a year and a half left and I'll be jealous 😄😄 I'm not familiar with that short but bells do produce different tones at different parts of the bell. The shape and thickness of the bell walls determines the frequencies the bell rings at. Therein lies the big secret that bell casters keep. Once they find a pattern that works, they arent willing to part with that knowledge. I get it, it takes a lot of trial and error or high-powered cipherin' to figure it out. No one wants to just give that knowledge away

If we are making castings, of any significant size, it can be hard on the body. While it will cost some money I would suggest adding items to the shop/garage to reduce the physical effort. Carts at a convenient height. Sand muller if you don't have one. Maybe a pneumatic sand rammer and 'jolt/squeeze' type machine kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZnCeKN_rql2rpI An overhead crane. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXaQd6aaipmNg9E Just think about how you can make things easier on your body. We are not as young as we used to be. I had been wondering why you had been quiet. I thought it was due to the summer break. Not as many people watch or post videos in the summer.
