Today’s feature is arguably the best player to play for Penn State, and one of the greatest examples of the difference in levels, and how difficult it is to actually make the NBA. I say that because Talor Battle was one of the best players at his position in high school, came into his division one college program and immediately started nearly every game he played in, and from his sophomore year, rarely came out the game because he was that important to his team. He improved each of his 4 years from 10ppg to over 20ppg in that span, and had the same improvement as a shooter, eventually finishing with a 36% accuracy from deep, better than average and it helped him track down and still hold the record for all time total points in a career for the Penn State basketball program. Up to that point Talor Battle did everything asked of him on the ammeter level and you’d think in the end that has to lead to a seamless transition to the NBA, where the best of the best are supposed to be harbored, and where the best not in the league are welcomed in with lottery pick or first round open arms. He was good up there in happy valley. I thought he had Westbrook toughness to his game but obviously not the athleticism. He also wasn't that tall unfortunately. It would have been nice to see him get a shot 💯
